Finally, some smart analysis from a media outlet. Now, that was worth reading. But let's apply this to the Saints and Packers. The Saints were just exposed by the Eagles. It wouldn't be fair to focus on an outlier game so I won't. But what I will do is look at how the Rams actually match up. With Ramsey, their only credible receiving threat, Michael Thomas, the Rams can limit him well. They haby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Ben suffers from the lack of a running game and dropped passes by his receivers. He hasn't forgotten how to play the game. He takes the blame like a man, that makes him a leader. The same happened to Elway and Warner in the middle years of their careers. Once the rest of their teams improved, miraculously, so did they. Here's my problem with how SOME people evaluate QB's: He fumbles too muby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteClassicalwit Like my posts a few weeks ago about Carson Wentz, I didn't intend any irony with the original post. To be fair, I've only seen Roethlisberger play a few times this season, but he didn't look good at all in the games that I saw. Far from it as a matter of fact. He's an older player, so I maybe his skills have faded? Well, Speed. I stand corrected. CW is what you said he wasby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSpeed_Kills its not so tongue in cheek at all Every single Sunday or Monday night he posts *insert Qb name here* is washed up, sucks, threw this worst pass or that worst pass The Steelers lost to the Bills in Buffalo 23-15... there is no way I watched that game and got out of it that Big Ben is washed up lol I will take your word on this because I'm not inclined to research his postsby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSteve Even P Manning had a problem in 2010 when Colts coudn't run... And ya, Goff at tampa, wow, and with sloooooooooooooow WRs ...so really, Goff won it! Right? I wouldn't call it selfless when Gerald tells Cam that half his yards belong to Everett. At least he realizes how important his job blocking is as the second TE. He knows if he wants Mundt's reps, he has to be a blocking force. Heck, the Rams drafted Everett's replacement this year (Hopkins) so he better keep ballin out in the run game. GE always had the physical tools. It's the intricate detaby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
It's funny how a QB can carry a team all year and as soon as OLine injuries wreck the running game, the QB and RB takes the fall. Let this be instructive going forward. Teams that can't run will put even the best QB's in peril. Just ask the Bucs and Seahawks. Another funny thing, the Rams couldn't run on the Bucs and Goff and the defense won the game while simultaneously beating the refs.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Quoteleafnose After reading and listening to a couple outlets, if we're talking about inside LB, folks pointed to Staley's use of ILB, and the weight that spot takes in his scheme. It doesn't appear that he values that spot as highly as many others on the defense. OLB is probably an entirely different discussion. I believe I've sourced the same outlets but came away with a different perspectby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Now that the Rams are morphing into the type of team that CAN win a championship, I'd like to focus on the factors they can't control. 1. Officiating. Jerome Boger tried mightily to give the Bucs that game against the Rams and yet the Rams prevailed. AD has drawn ONE holding call all year. While they CAN do it, beating both the refs and the playoff teams is a tall order. 2. COVID. The Ramsby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
While the Rams are unlikely to get the #1 seed, their defense and running game can travel and win anywhere as long as the running game continues to become more multiple and effective. I prefer to concentrate on how the Rams develop internally rather than how the scoreboards play out.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
While he talks about the personnel packages, what he did against the Patriots was EXACTLY what I've been preaching for the last two weeks concerning the TYPE of running plays. There were very few zone runs. On the second drive, CORBETT ACTUALLY PULLED TO THE LEFT, and it led to a 14 yard gain on 1st down. Then he employed Everett as a fullback. There were double team powers on a regular basis. Thby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Only if they win the Super Bowl. If not, next year, beating them will be priority 1. Once they get their studs back, reaching the promised land will go through them. It will anyway but with a championship in our pockets, it won't feel like 1989 all over againby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
I think Akers is a very good running back, but my evaluation of him will vary from the majority here. Let's categorize backs to clarify my point. The Elusives: Barry Sanders, Gale Sayers, Tiki Barber, Warrick Dunn, Alvin Kamara, Reggie Bush. Darren Sproles. The Swiss Army Knife: Marshall Faulk, Roger Craig, Thurman Thomas, and Ricky Waters, Amp Lee (wink) The Hammer: Jim Brown, Earlby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com

Quoteferragamo79 but to lose twice, once with Back up QB and Kittle, Bosa and others missing is a killer Agreed. But KC narrowly avoided the same fate against the Raiders this year. It hurts but it doesn't have to define the season. Hopefully they learned things that will help in the stretch run.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
To your point, winning out would indicate the Rams found their groove. It would also mean the road to the Super Bowl was a 7 or 8 game winning streak which is possible but not what we have seen from this team this year. I find the notion that the Saints and Packers will drop enough games to get the first seed a bit too wishful thinking. To me, a #2 seed is something more likely and genuinely pby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com

In the Super Bowl, the Pats reshaped their approach and it worked because the Rams didn't reshape theirs. McVay simply focused on ways to beat the defense he studied with the same offense he ran all year. This is precisely why I'm repeating myself ad nauseam about retooling the running game with powers and traps STARTING with this game. They did some earlier in the year so it's not like they hby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Bone's penchant for trick plays hasn't done well for the Pokes either. Too bad. I miss what he regularly schemed for Hekker as we haven't seen anything from that spot this year and there were times we needed it.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Austin Blythe had been the most glaring weak link in the OLine for a couple years as he was easily bullrushed and allowed the most penetration. This year, he has improved that trait from the center position which seems to be his more natural post. He just isn't powerful enough at guard but his technique plays well at center. This has been as much a roller coaster season as I've ever experienced with this team and I go back to the Foursome. Last year was difficult but seemed to be a slow regression to the bitter recognition that the season was lost. That we have seen many times. The closest I can remember was '79. The asterisk was that I don't trust Goff to produce fantasy numbers against the Pats. Part of that is that I don't trust McVay to roll out an effective running game against Belichick. I suppose you can argue that Goff is the reason we lose when he's asked to carry an offense beyond his limitations but I don't see it that way. He is rarely the primary reason the Rams lose games. 43 wins - 20 lby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com

QuoteSpeed_Kills I mean this game wasn't even close But the Rams kept them in the game 1) Two non conversions on 4th down one goal to goal when they rushed to the los rather than taking a TO and calling a good play 2) A missed FG and 50+ yard return 3) A fumbled punt 4) The defense which at times was dominant gave up a 4th and 12 and 2 4th and goal TDs. ::o 5) McVay and these outside zoby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
