I wouldn't call it selfless when Gerald tells Cam that half his yards belong to Everett. At least he realizes how important his job blocking is as the second TE. He knows if he wants Mundt's reps, he has to be a blocking force. Heck, the Rams drafted Everett's replacement this year (Hopkins) so he better keep ballin out in the run game.

GE always had the physical tools. It's the intricate details and physicality that has taken so long to develop. He's actually now the most important key to the kind of multiple offense we need. That, and McVay's commitment to diversify the run calls.
