QuoteCarolinaRam We just cannot run the ball. Akers is not 100%. Just don't know where the pts will come from next week? Big Whit returns and so does the running game with Akers gutting it out. The D is due to produce more turnovers. Or notby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteClassicalwit When was the last time the Rams had a dominant day and forced multiple turnovers? I mean a Baltimore Raven type dominant performance: 4 Ints, 2 fumble recoveries, and a TD or 2. I think that's the kind of effort that it will take. I remember Haslett creating several turnovers with his scheme. Then again, a dozen times a game the blitzes didn't get home and the defense got burnby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteKillrazor when a QB sets up nice and throws confidently even when he even has time its usually a completed pass, with JG its not the case.It still may go to the other team still with no Ram in sight. I also was 10 and every year in the 70's I believed and every year ended in disappointment. You'd think I've learned over the years how to handle it. I don't cry anymore like I did as a kid, but I'm still too emotional about it. I literally have to turn off games like the last one and swear off even thinking about football for a day or two just to act like a normal human being. We only had ONEby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotesix2stack Are you saying that Goff should be in the Pro Bowl? Absolute not. Jared hasn't performed to that level. What I'm saying is that Wilson's interceptions are largely ignored and excused. The double standard and willful blindness bothers me greatly. I think he's a great QB. But to lambast Goff's 12 picks and ignore Russ's 13 is galling.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotesix2stack The dude has almost 3900 yds passing and over 800 yards rushing. The NFC is weak at QB overall this year. After Rodgers and Wilson there is a drop off. Russell Wilson has thrown more interceptions than Jared Goff this year. Let that sink in for a minute.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotestlrams13 I'll be shocked if the Rams even draft a Qb I would be shocked if they didn't draft a QB for three reasons. 1. They need a better backup if Goff gets injured. 2. A dual threat QB could expand the running game and give McVay more options and variations even while Goff continues to lead the team. Think the role that Hill has in NO or Hurts in Philly. 3. Having a rookie QBby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
I hope you're right. But the fundamental issues on the OLine, play calls, and recent defensive hiccups in communication remain. It's funny how I watch Brees throw three pics (two caught) and Aikman makes excuses for him but Goff hits Woods in the hands and Troy blasts that Goff didn't throw it far enough outside. The bias is obvious and irritating. I don't think those are recent issues, Iby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotezn Quotenicecatchellard Here is a problem with the Rams this year. They don't inspire confidence they win two and then drop one to a team they should on paper beat. They can't string good games together they can only win two games at a time and then drop one. For the playoffs they have to win out they don't look capable of doing that at this time. Most good teams can string 5 or 6 wins in aby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
It's the NFL and we have a very good team. Not great. Not dominant. Very good. I posted that thread early in the year. I voted 11-5 but hold my breath with every possession. Hopeful realism. I'm just a fan. My opinion doesn't make them better or worse. Perhaps we take ourselves too seriously because we care so much? Given your evaluation, would you draft a mobile QB high next year to develop and augment the offense with some reps, or would you continue to draft help for Goff to elevate his game? Just wondering...by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Sean McVay has a terrific core coaching mentality and an astute football acumen. He's a positive force with an excellent sense of humor. He has taken this team from the doldrums to a level of expectation we could only dream of five years ago. As an old Ram fan who has seen so many disappointing years, Sean is a breath of fresh air. QuoteSpeed_Kills As you know I agree with this. We should not even be talking about this game That being said I want to be clear that in that situation and much like the last Niners game I just want Goff to be able to execute in those critical situations He could have been the hero in both games and they were just easy things. So when people bring him up that’s really what they are talkingby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
That's a fair assessment but one caveat, when a QB doesn't trust his protection, he will generally pick his first read if there is single coverage. Yes, he can expand his vision, but at what cost? In '18 I felt Goff trusted his protection too much but he was rewarded with explosive plays. '19 wrecked that and so did the Dolphins loss this year.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSpeed_Kills he's not as good as Akers dz doesn't have his feet or power... or vision dammit!! Henderson hasn't received the reps in the new running scheme that Akers enjoyed. We don't yet know that he CAN'T handle it. I actually believe he can and will surprise you.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemerlin I think Goff has had a down season. I think he's struggled with the stuff they put on him. He's had the protections and power to adjust the play all season long. It's a lot and he hasn't handled everything at the level they need. Now the question is can he get there? I think so but there is no way of knowing. Rams are going to need to build around him though before they try to mby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Personally, I was concerned about the mental state of the Rams if they won out the rest of the season after the 9'ers loss. The team just loses focus after big wins. They just do. It reminds me of the Phil Jackson Lakers. Phil would sit silently and watch the team go through stretches in a game ignoring the plan Jackson put in place. He purposely allowed them to feel failure in spite of theirby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
This is a design flaw that was exposed by Gase. I've been waiting all year for an OC to find the weaknesses in Staley's scheme. I'm grateful because now it can be fixed. It's far better for it to happen now than in the playoffs as I've been saying the second half of the year that it's inevitable.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotezn Quotekw13 just doesn't feel like there is any confidence as to what team will show up, and which Goff and McVay will show up.. Yes some of us have confidence that McVay and Goff will show up as they have in so many games before this. Not only that but not everyone puts this loss solely on McVay, or Goff. Quoteroman18 I can see being humbled, but to me once is enough.....How many times can you look at film and see the mistakes and say we will correct them? If they are corrected why are they doing the same mistakes? The answer is the mistakes are not being corrected. I'm 56 so I've felt all the same things. Honestly, the Super Bowl win against the Titans didn't produce elation, just relief. The most confident I ever felt was in 01 and we all know how that ended. 18 was special but ended the same way. I was so proud of the team through the first half of the Steelers game, only to watch in horror as our 79 defense collapsed at the end of the game. With thatby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com

McVay has been protecting the OLine all year and expected them to take a step forward against the Jets, he was wrong. Perspective? This could be a learning moment. McVay MUST continue to protect the weaknesses of the line and Staley MUST adapt to the chinks demonstrated in the defense this week. When the OLine gets blown up repeatedly, every play call is vulnerable. I actually credit their front four because it's collectively the best unit we faced all year and a great DLine is McVay's kryptonite. It's Goff's kryptonite. It's every running back's kryptonite, even Dickerson's against the Bears in '85 when we had one of our best OLines. Yes, McVay seemed flummoxed but we were able to wby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
