Opinions range from tremendous bargain to WTF and a pure publicity stunt... Also speculation it's a late decision by BB in response to seeing how (re)motivated Brady seems to be in Tampa. With Cam it all comes down to "if he's healthy, if he's healthy.." But also a strong opinion here is that if Stidham still has a chance to start this doesn't make much sense because you have to havby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
It's an interesting signing. And I can see why they did it. Financially it's pretty much zero risk. The biggest risk, really, is potentially stunting the development of Stidham who they presumably like. At minimum they are now splitting reps in camp which hurts the young kid. If Newton wins the job and plays poorly or gets hurt 2-3 weeks in they will have taken valuable developmental time away frby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
He's forgotten because unfortunately for him his tenure with the team was during the horrific 2007-2011 seasons. But he was a good player.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com

Agreed. I think it's a crime the league hasn't gone back further than 1982 to update these properly. Just would not be that hard to slowly go back, say, as far as the 1970 merger and then eventually 1960/beginning of AFL, etc.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Ivory Sully blocks the 49ers' FG at the end of the 1982 season finale... Lansford's FG to beat the Saints and send the Rams to the playoffs in 1983.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I thought he did well in year two considering he didn't play one snap as a rookie. If he can take another step forward in his development he could be really good this year.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I have to agree. It was far less about missing Kupp and much more about being outschemed/outcoached. I love McVay and hope he's the Rams HC for the next 10+ years. But it's the truth.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
This is a prime example of having to figure out if you have depth or just a bunch of bodies... I think Kiser can be solid inside. I was never a fan of Hager being anything other than a ST guy. Reeder, I thought, did OK considering he was an UDFA rookie 3rd stringer thrust into a role he wasn't yet ready for. I think he's OK depth. Howard and Young are both athletic and talented but this is aby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I want him around a long time too. He is clearly Goff's go-to guy. 'Elite', for a WR, to me would be top 5-6 in the league. Is he that? No. Is he top 14-15 in the league? I'd say definitely yes.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
What really changed with Kupp the most the 2nd half of last year was targets. Now is that on him? Goff? McVay? Due to Higbee emerging? Impossible to say. But that is the number that fell off the most- from 87 (10.9/game, a pretty unsustainable number) to 47 (5.9/game- below his career average). Almost half. But he did actually catch a higher percentage of his targets (77%) the 2nd half of theby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Before my time, but with guys like him I like to look at their primes and see how they stacked up vs. their peers. For Gabriel, from 1966-1973, he was: 3rd in passing yards 5th in yards/game 4th in TD passes 1st in completions 2nd in lowest INT percentage 11th in passer rating 14th in completion percentage 1st in games started and wonby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
An UDFA, but a 'free agent signing' technically, I think you have to include Hekker. Best punter in franchise history- by far.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 Some better run blocking from this evolving OL. More 12 sets to confound opposing D’s, including lots more targets for Higbee to torture the D’s. Give Everett a chance to make a statement in his ‘prove it’ final contract year. Would be nice to see Kiser finally fulfilling expectations as a run stuffer. Would love to see one of Ebu, Obo, Polite, Patrick, or Lewis become a credby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, I think Burgess will be groomed to play multiple roles which would likely preclude him from being the main nickel- at least as a rookie. And for that reason I would not consider trading Hill. Stay four deep at CB. Rather have him for 2020 than net some 6th or 7th round pick.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Smart move. Embarrassing what is happening in some states. Canada is not reopening the border to the U.S. until 7/21 at earliest and I would guess that's doubtful right now.by LMU93 - Bucky's Pub
I thought he was a very good CB for them for 3 seasons. But they clearly feel good about their secondary and depth. A lot to sort out- Hill vs. Williams vs. Long opposite Ramsey. Can Long play in the slot? Burgess' role? Johnson's return (and relative upgrade over Weddle) alongside Rapp is a big plus for them. They're legitimately 7 deep in the secondary.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Plus going back even further when the revamped OL started to come into play (Corbett at LG, Blythe at C, Evans at RT) they allowed just 6 sacks in the final 7 games. He had 4 games in 2019 with a 100+ QBR and 5 games below 70. It was 16 games 100+ and just 4 below 70 across 2017 and 2018.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I would love to know what his numbers were going beyond his first reads in 2018 and 2017. I would bet there is a gap there but not nearly as sizable as 2019- mainly because he had more time. You're right, he is not Wilson, Rodgers, etc. and likely never will be in that regard of making something out of nothing. But we've all seen Goff make 2nd and even 3rd reads plenty of times the past 3 years.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Good things rarely happen when your QB throws the ball 600+ times. His 626 was a franchise record you don't want him to have. Get him back to 2017-2018 when he was throwing ~33.5 times/game. Now of course the running game (and OL) were part of all this. They couldn't run very well- especially the first half of the year- and often abandoned it. Now Goff did flat miss more throws than he shouldby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I could see him tried at center too. Not as a primary position but as a secondary spot that could eventually earn him a game day active role. He is made to be a RG but needs to be able to play more than one spot.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Who knows, maybe he is on their PS for a year and never heard from again. But I think he was a great value in the late 7th round. A guy who has good intelligence, leadership qualities, work ethic and was All-ACC twice and had 37 starts for one of the best programs in the country checks a lot of boxes. Stick him at RG at the bottom of their depth chart and let him develop.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think he's most likely their guy too. Doubt they will have another kicker on the PS but maybe with expanded rosters I'll be wrong. I'm not concerned about LH being 30. Let's worry about the next 3 years, not 10.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I'll be honest, I'm a bit skeptical of him based on his track record but maybe new blood yields positive results. At the end of the day it really comes down to one of the three kickers shining, Hekker having a rebound season, and having a decent (Webster?) punt returner and disciplined coverage units.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, not an essential cog by any means. But if he's a guy you play 15-16 snaps/game in run situations, well, you need those guys. Not all that different from the assumption about Kiser at ILB who's probably a 25 snaps/game guy. Though I realize a lot is TBD about Staley's defense.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree. I don't see why people would be disappointed in Gaines. He was a mid-round pick, a two-down run defender. Contributed as a rookie and- no different from Rapp, Long, Edwards, Evans, etc.- there is every reason to be optimistic he'll take a step forward in year 2. Joseph-Day didn't play a down his rookie year and was pretty good in year 2. It doesn't change who he is. He's not going toby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Hopefully they have depth here and not just bodies. I like Lawler as a special teams guy. Hopefully he can return and help boost that unit. Also curious about Patrick. Would not surprise me if he beat out Polite or Okoronkwo.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
