Came to mind today. Definitely underappreciated on those Rams defenses. From 1976-1981 (6 seasons) he was one of the top 10-12 LBs in the NFL.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
You know, I thought about that one too. Hard to say 2-7 was fun but I know what you mean. 4 of their 7 losses were by 6 points or less and they had 4th quarter leads three straight games they couldn't put away. You're right, the defense was old then and maybe that's why they blew so many early leads. They were particularly long in the tooth at DT with Brooks, Fanning and Cody Jones... and Jim Youby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Grasping at straws for content in early July... EVERY team goes young somewhere. The Rams are no different. But it's hardly as if they're going to trot out inexperienced rookies everywhere. Of the 6 players they specify- Weddle, Cooks, Gurley, Matthews, Fowler Jr. and Littleton- the Rams probably wish they still had one of them (Littleton). Starting QB? Not inexperienced. WR and TE? Hardly. Oby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
But no thanks to the rest. Go with the youngsters.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree. And they were an illegal formation penalty (@SF) away from being 8-8. Playing in the stacked NFC West- and NFC- that year you can argue they were a top half of the league team. Football Outsiders rated the 2012 Rams 15th overall. Pro-Football-Reference had that team 16th overall and with the 2nd hardest schedule. The only egg they really laid all season was at home vs. a crappy Jets teamby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
It's an utter embarrassment. The EU and Canada won't allow the U.S. in anytime soon and they're right not to.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think he makes it as their 9th OL. Questions is whether he can elevate higher than that.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Newton his past 3 full seasons rated by FootballOutsiders: 23rd, 21st, 28th... He has to be healthy first and foremost. But McDaniels has to work some magic with him.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I tend to agree. I think he'll be given a chance to compete for the LG spot. But ideally it shakes out with him being the 6th man.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Via Pro Football Focus: OG Austin Corbett, Los Angeles Rams Another offensive lineman with a lot to prove, Austin Corbett was an intriguing prospect who was potentially overdrafted by the Browns in the second round. His NFL position was always up for debate, having played tackle in college, but he was always viewed as an interior lineman at the next level. He has been playing almost exclusiby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com

I remember that. Very good game. The play Deion made was excellent. I was at the game they won vs the NYG 3 weeks before. They'd climbed to 4-5 but the week before SF they had lost a close one at home to the Raiders. This SF loss made them 4-7 and seemed to seal their fate. Spiraled from there to 4-12, Knox fired, moving vans warmed up....by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I'll settle for just steady. And if the others around him on defense are doing their jobs that will be enough. I do think he'll be an upgrade over Hager (which isn't hard, frankly...) and Reeder, who showed good effort but had to be thrust into a starting role much too early.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Opinions range from tremendous bargain to WTF and a pure publicity stunt... Also speculation it's a late decision by BB in response to seeing how (re)motivated Brady seems to be in Tampa. With Cam it all comes down to "if he's healthy, if he's healthy.." But also a strong opinion here is that if Stidham still has a chance to start this doesn't make much sense because you have to havby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
It's an interesting signing. And I can see why they did it. Financially it's pretty much zero risk. The biggest risk, really, is potentially stunting the development of Stidham who they presumably like. At minimum they are now splitting reps in camp which hurts the young kid. If Newton wins the job and plays poorly or gets hurt 2-3 weeks in they will have taken valuable developmental time away frby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
He's forgotten because unfortunately for him his tenure with the team was during the horrific 2007-2011 seasons. But he was a good player.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com

Agreed. I think it's a crime the league hasn't gone back further than 1982 to update these properly. Just would not be that hard to slowly go back, say, as far as the 1970 merger and then eventually 1960/beginning of AFL, etc.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Ivory Sully blocks the 49ers' FG at the end of the 1982 season finale... Lansford's FG to beat the Saints and send the Rams to the playoffs in 1983.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I thought he did well in year two considering he didn't play one snap as a rookie. If he can take another step forward in his development he could be really good this year.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I have to agree. It was far less about missing Kupp and much more about being outschemed/outcoached. I love McVay and hope he's the Rams HC for the next 10+ years. But it's the truth.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
This is a prime example of having to figure out if you have depth or just a bunch of bodies... I think Kiser can be solid inside. I was never a fan of Hager being anything other than a ST guy. Reeder, I thought, did OK considering he was an UDFA rookie 3rd stringer thrust into a role he wasn't yet ready for. I think he's OK depth. Howard and Young are both athletic and talented but this is aby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I want him around a long time too. He is clearly Goff's go-to guy. 'Elite', for a WR, to me would be top 5-6 in the league. Is he that? No. Is he top 14-15 in the league? I'd say definitely yes.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
What really changed with Kupp the most the 2nd half of last year was targets. Now is that on him? Goff? McVay? Due to Higbee emerging? Impossible to say. But that is the number that fell off the most- from 87 (10.9/game, a pretty unsustainable number) to 47 (5.9/game- below his career average). Almost half. But he did actually catch a higher percentage of his targets (77%) the 2nd half of theby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Before my time, but with guys like him I like to look at their primes and see how they stacked up vs. their peers. For Gabriel, from 1966-1973, he was: 3rd in passing yards 5th in yards/game 4th in TD passes 1st in completions 2nd in lowest INT percentage 11th in passer rating 14th in completion percentage 1st in games started and wonby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com

Give Everett a chance to make a statement in his ‘prove it’ final contract year. Would be nice to see Kiser finally fulfilling expectations as a run stuffer.
