rarely happen when your QB throws the ball 600+ times. His 626 was a franchise record you don't want him to have. Get him back to 2017-2018 when he was throwing ~33.5 times/game. Now of course the running game (and OL) were part of all this. They couldn't run very well- especially the first half of the year- and often abandoned it.
Now Goff did flat miss more throws than he should have last year. he did. But I think part of that was getting into bad mechanical habits and his mental clock speeding too quickly because of poor protection. The parts about bad deep ball accuracy and 2nd reads falls in there too.
Better balance and threat of running game on offense leads to better play action success. And that leads to more deep ball opps. On and on..
He has to be better. But they HAVE TO run the ball more effectively (YPC) and maintain balance on offense. He is not a QB that can overcome defenses knowing he is going to throw all the time.
