I watched an interview with Jenna Fischer, and she said there is a new generation of kids watching on streaming services who weren't even born when the show originally aired. So she said she'll be in a store or someplace, and kids will come up to her and say.... "Wow, you look a lot like that girl on 'The Office'". She'll go, "Yeeaaahhh...... that was me." And they'll go, &by Aries - Bucky's Pub
I worked for a short period of time with a guy who came here from the Washington D.C. area. He said he lived 12 miles from his office, and if I remember right it took him about 2 hours to get to work.by Aries - Bucky's Pub
It must have killed lawyers to watch Matlock. I'm not a lawyer, and even when I see pieces of it, every few minutes I'm like, "Yeah, no way any judge would ever let him do that." :lol3by Aries - Bucky's Pub
Well... it will get played. But I don't play electric guitars all that much, most of my experience is on an acoustic. But I'm very careful with my guitars. My 35 year old Taylor looks almost like new, there's a little of the finish rubbed off right above the pick guard where I guess sometimes I strike the top just short of the edge of the pick guard. And the gold is a little worn on the tunersby Aries - Bucky's Pub
Those are all very cool! Um... lime green, no offense but... not my favorite. :lol I think I like the black and white one best. I think you'd like Ben the Guitar Guy. I've never heard him play anything, but he strikes me as a heavy metal kind of guy.by Aries - Bucky's Pub
It will be an incredible looking guitar... it's made from the figured koa on the back of my headstock, and he has put inlays on it in unusual places. He said it's to cover "mistakes", then said there were some small cracks or something he was covering. I may have misunderstood exactly. There is probably enough wood left over from the coffee table to make a koa neck for it. I reallyby Aries - Bucky's Pub
I have a Taylor with gold hardware that is about 35 years old. It's worn, but not that bad for that many years. So I knew it would wear, but didn't give it that much thought. I will now, though... The same guy has shown me an acoustic guitar he's been working on, not for a client just a build to keep him busy when he doesn't have something else specific. It's actually made from the figuredby Aries - Bucky's Pub
Thanks, that's good advice. I knew the gold will wear over time, but hadn't thought about oils accelerating it. But I will be sure and take care to do that. It plays very nicely. I haven't plugged it into the tube amps yet, just through my little cheap Spark practice amp... but it sounds really good. The "clean" tones especially are very smooth. The humbuckers are set up for coilby Aries - Bucky's Pub
Okay, especially for sstrams because I know he'll be interested, and JamesJM might be... This is the custom guitar I had made by www.liggettguitars.com It used to be a coffee table that my parents had before I was born, and until I was about 15 years old. If you're interested, I wrote up a little history and you can read it Here You can also find more pictures on facebook or instagram ifby Aries - Bucky's Pub
I don't have NEAR the equipment sstrams has, but I was going to make the same offer. The thought of you smashing anything never occurred to me. Until you said it.... now, um sstrams has some really cool equipment I'm sure you'd like a lot better than anything I have! :lolby Aries - Bucky's Pub
There is a saying that people don't quit a job, they quit a boss.by Aries - Bucky's Pub
I'm not sure if he still does, but the same guy (Ben Liggett) used to work at a place that made banjos, and for a fee, they would let you use their equipment and teach you how to build your own guitar. One of my friends built two, and they're both beautiful. But I think it costs more for him to teach you, and I was less concerned about learning to build one than having one built. So I figuredby Aries - Bucky's Pub
Not cheap, but maybe not as much as you'd think. Let's just say... I've always wanted a Paul Reed Smith guitar. I don't have one, because the one I would want (not the imports, or the model they kind of cut corners on) would cost more than this one will. Of course I DID supply the Koa wood, so I'm not sure how much more that would have cost. I've been told Koa is expensive. I would think tby Aries - Bucky's Pub
I don't remember who did it, or what song he was performing, or any details to try and find it... but I watched a video once of a guy who broke a string and actually replaced it DURING the song! Never missed a lyric.by Aries - Bucky's Pub
Yeah, I knew you would appreciate it... I was planning to either post about it, or PM you about it when it's finished. I wrote up an article about the history of the Koa wood, the coffee table, and how we made the decisions that went into it. I asked the luthier to read it to make sure everything about him, and the specifications were accurate. He wants to use parts of it on his website, soby Aries - Bucky's Pub
Yeah, it could be an acoustic bass guitar. I only see two tuners on one side of the head... it's possible a third one disappears against the dark background, but they're spaced very widely if it's a six string. Not sure how old the pic is but electronics are very common in acoustic guitars and that's not particularly new. I have a 35 year old Taylor guitar with a built in pickup. That is one more song than I can play on the drums. :lolby Aries - Bucky's Pub
The guitar being held like a bat looks like a copy of a Gibson ES335 or something similar. Maybe an Epiphone? Can only see the back of the other one, looks to be an acoustic, could be anything. I really need to see the headstock to have any chance of identifying guitars.by Aries - Bucky's Pub
About your cousin, Jimmy, they say you are either a guitarist who sings a little, or a singer who plays a little guitar. :lol I always considered myself a singer who plays a little guitar, except now I can't sing that well either. I've been taking guitar lessons for about the last year, trying to learn some new chops. I will soon be up to nine guitars. Three of them are really fairly cheapby Aries - Bucky's Pub

I remember the exact moment, and can remember the conversation almost word-for-word. I think it was the year after the Jets and Broadway Joe won the Super Bowl. Me and my friends had just become interested in football and started playing in the back yard. The Jets were mostly what you heard about, and I thought they were going to be my favorite team. My best friend lived in a larger town neaby Aries - Bucky's Pub
Trying hard not to give any spoilers... Enjoyed it. Very tense. Very jumpey. There was a little bit of a sub-plot in the first one, the girl's relationship with her father. A little of that in Part 2, but didn't seem like as much. Kind of missed that. But it was good, and I'll probably watch it again eventually. Search youtube for krasinski kimmel pranks. They used to be neighbors and had a hilarious prank war. Now you've made me want to watch A Quiet Place again. There goes my day. Oh, well.... it's not like I was going to do anything anyway. :lol1by Aries - Bucky's Pub
Yeah, I've liked Krasinski since The Office. I haven't seen much of his other work besides A Quiet Place, but in his interviews and appearances I've seen he just comes across as genuine and funny. You might enjoy this if you haven't seen it.by Aries - Bucky's Pub
This is from memory, so I might be a little off on the details. Also, spoilers.... . . . . . . . . . . . . You couldn't just shoot them in the head because of the armor. Mrs. Abbott figured out that the feedback from the machine (radio, or whatever it was) confused or agitated them in some way that caused their armor to involuntarily open up and make them vulnerable. Yeah, I had an old Fender Precision fretless bass that I repainted a couple of times and it looked decent. It was rough when I started, so I wasn't too worried. This LP is the translucent wine red finish, and I'd hate to try to get the stain right and then the laquer over-coat... I'm pretty sure it would be even worse when I got through with it than it is now. I don't even remember how long Iby Aries - Bucky's Pub
Rick the Guitar Guy (my teacher and guitar repair guy) said I could refinish the front but it would probably cost $600 to $800. I think I paid $850 for it used. He said use it, abuse it, play it, enjoy it, and don't worry about it so that's what I'm doing. I'm not sure what your LP is worth, but I sold a Gibson L6S about 4 years ago that I think was made in about 1974 and they gave me $650 fby Aries - Bucky's Pub
I like to watch some of the youtube videos of the "tour the factory" variety. Taylor and Martin are probably my favorite "production" guitars, at least of those I have any familiarity at all. But the really interesting videos are the small custom luthiers like Driftwood Guitars and stuff like that.
