I am more than a little jealous... that is beautiful, and made back when Gibson's quality was second to none.by Aries - Bucky's Pub
Wow! 5 million.... they tried to auction off one of Eric Clapton's guitars a few months ago, a Stratocastor like a '59 or maybe a '57? The one he called "Slowhand". Thought it would bring close to 1.5 million. Opened bidding at $1 million and got no bids so just took it off auction. I have a Les Paul Studio made in 2016, Gibson's reputation has taken a beating the last few years fby Aries - Bucky's Pub
I heard Eric Clapton quoted once as saying that his ultimate goal was to bring a tear to your eye by playing a single note. I forget which one, but one of the other guys in ZZ Top said Billy Gibbons thing wasn't particularly playing fast, his thing was tone. I've been taking guitar lessons since November. Been playing for 50 years, but never took lessons before, so I've been playing more tby Aries - Bucky's Pub
Yeah, just click the "Settings" icon in the lower right corner, and you can increase or decrease playback speed. I don't do it much, but I think it keeps pitch pretty close to the same.by Aries - Bucky's Pub

I learned to play banjo on exactly one song, a hundred years ago. The chords are different from guitar chords because the banjo is tuned differently, but otherwise played the same way. Press your fingers on a combo of frets, it's not really any harder than learning new chords on a guitar. The right hand IS the harder part, to me... but then I never was very good at finger picking on a guitby Aries - Bucky's Pub
Cost didn't matter, my company paid for it. But I had a friend who was in a degree program that I was interested in, and I was able to do almost all of it online. When I was telling my supervisor about it to get approval, I said, "The only bad thing is it's OSU." He says, "Is that a problem?" I said, "Are you kidding??? So sorry to hear of your loss. My wife's 88 year old mother is living with us temporarily, and one of my biggest concerns is that we'll bring it home to her. So trying to be extra cautious, as much as possible.by Aries - Bucky's Pub
One of the funny things about this virus is the wide disparity of consequences. Literally, from almost no symptoms up to and including death. I tested positive a few weeks ago, but never had any symptoms at all, and none of the other five people living here caught it. I think really it was probably a false positive. It stands to reason that a lot of people who had it never got tested, so noby Aries - Bucky's Pub
I have Barretts as well, and my understanding is that ferragamo79 is right... it can become malignant, but nowhere near 50 to 70% range. I think you said they put you on antacids? If not, they probably will. And I get an upper endoscopy every three years to monitor it.by Aries - Bucky's Pub
How many bass players does it take to change a light bulb? Just one... but the lead guitarist has to show him how first. sstrams will think that is funny.by Aries - Bucky's Pub

...and he probably doesn't know ANYTHING about road construction in St. Louis. :lol1 Yeah, I knew you lived there and thought you might answer. I knew where Fenton is, we stayed at a Drury Inn on I-44 there (or near there) one year. I had found the modot website but couldn't find any info on it. The local conditions link is very helpful though. It shows a bunch of dots in about the areaby Aries - Bucky's Pub
Any of you St. Louis residents, can you help me out? I have to drive to central Kentucky and back next week. My wife and I went out last month... we take I-44 east to St. Louis (from Tulsa area), then I-64 east out of St. Louis through Louisville. We always take a bypass around the SE side, I believe it is I-55 (not sure... we cross the river a little after getting off I-44, go past a Walmby Aries - Bucky's Pub
I remember it. Was based on the musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers? Or I'm thinking of something else... I remember Bobby Sherman. I did not remember David Soul being in it. Starsky and Hutch was one of my favorite shows, but I was more of a Starsky fan.by Aries - Bucky's Pub

You really should learn something about music. Take up guitar or something. :lol1by Aries - Bucky's Pub

It was all production. The devil had professional backup musicians and singers, sound and lighting engineers, and effects. Johnny was just solo on an un-amplified fiddle. If you strip it down, Johnny kicked his boo-tay.by Aries - Bucky's Pub

He was known more as a singer/songwriter and that kind of over shadowed his career. But very underrated as a guitarist.by Aries - Bucky's Pub
I really wanted it to play around with at home as much as anything, but saw it as a potential live aid if we had trouble finding a drummer. I'll get it back from my buddy in a few weeks and play with it some more. Sometimes I struggle with something for a while, give up and leave it alone for a while, then take off with it eventually.by Aries - Bucky's Pub
I don't play much anymore... I don't play enough to justify the guitars I ALREADY have. But I see guitars all the time I want to buy. I'd kill for a Paul Reed Smith. I'd like another G&L, one of the American made ones from Fullerton. I'd like a vintage Fender tube amp. Or maybe even a reproduction. And a Marshall bass amp. What would I do with them? Is probably the WORST for sounding different. I was playing bass one time, I was standing right in front of the amp and could barely hear what I was playing. They came and told me to turn it down, they said once you got to the back of the auditorium, you could not hear anything BUT the bass. We didn't have any monitors though, so I'm sure that would have helped...by Aries - Bucky's Pub
