One of my nagging thoughts about the Packers game is that the Rams could have presented a healthier, larger front 4 and attempted to shut down the run first. I think Donald was more hurt then he let on and probably should not have played at least the 1st half. My view of the defense in 2020 was that it was elite against the pass and medium against the run. Aaron Donald is a huge reason for this in that he gets so much penetration that he makes the pass game very difficult and against the run he is boom/bust in that he gets a lot of TFLs but also vacates gaps and leaves occasional big holes. I agree that Goff has fallen far less than Wentz and should be worth more on the open market. He is a better player in my opinion. Doesn't change the fact that Rams had to move on Stafford or else. I believe Goff was likely worth a couple of 2nds or a low first, lowered value because of his contract obligations. If the rams had waited, they could have likely received compensation around what Wentz may bring. Even in that scenario, Rams need a QB and assume Stafford is still on the market. That offense was horrible. Don't forget Gurley regressed like no other as well. And Case Keenum was a little bit better than Goff but overall played poorly. Then he went to the Vikings and got to the NFC game. All McVay had to do was bring a mediocre offense and everyone would be better. He did a little more than that in year one.

I appreciate your analysis ZN and I agree if I read your point correctly. Goff is not a "turnover machine". He's had circumstances with the line and potentially play calling that have caused more turnovers beyond his pure cause. People remember the really bad 3+ turnover games including the media. They haven't analyzed if Goff is truly just a turnover machine or prone to spurts

I think the fumbles are a forever issue due to his hands. He's gotten a little better at two handing the ball while maneuvering. A better line will also help with that.
