Alex Mack may be the best lineman ever to play at Cal. He's that good. Aaron Rodgers had Mack and Marshawn Lynch. Think about that! He consistently gets pancakes straight up the middle making for huge holes for RBs. He is a bit older and has some injury history. I dunno, It's rare for an undrafted guy to get in there and make big plays at the QB position. I was rooting for Wolford in a way I wasn't rooting for Goff as he sliced up Arizona a few weeks before and I'm a Goff fan. Small hands and fumbles yes. He didn't have an interception problem, though he did have one horrible game against Utah with 4 interceptions in one game. He still played well enough that he had a chance to win that one at the very end.by BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com

I think there is a chance Detroit deals him and that would likely be best for Goff unless Detroit somehow magically turns it around under Campbell. Sounds like they all called Goff to assure him he is their guy and Goff liked that per Silver article. It seems like they plan to keep him. McVay was definitely nicer and more effusive in praise the first couple years. He was also huge at taking the blame the first few years after losses. Now it seems he is a bit more bitter and angry, especially after a loss. Is this all hate of Goff? Probably not. Silver is definitely a biased Cal guy but doesn't mean he is wrong. We've all seen Sneed make a lot of BAD contract decisions. That dude should not be allowed to extend anyone. He is better at trading, drafting, and finding coaches. We've all seen a lot of BAD play calls by McVay on 3rd and 15 and in the redzone that defies logic. Good Article and does bring some balance to the story. Silver has a long relationship with Goff and has his back. Goff is most definitely the source. Seems like McVay didn't say a lot to Goff aside from their big Seahawks 4 hour conversation and what he said in the press. Doesn't surprise me but does seem a bit immature on McVay's part. I am fascinated by this fact... We've seen OCs/DCs leave teams to become HCs and they have great success where their old team starts to fade. We've also seen HCs lose their coaches and players and reload and it's no big deal. Is Snead the Genius or is Holmes or are they both good? For sure! At this point we don't know if Wentz will even start or where. I have a feeling both will play better under new coaches which says a lot about the coaches they were under. We've all seen managers/employees that do well at first together and then they get comfortable and then the true personalities come out. Same was true about Whitworth right? Never won a playoff game with the Bengals for over a decade. That said, I agree the rams gave up too much. Yes all good points that a good D can help it's own ToP. There have been good college teams with the hurry-up like Oregon. Their defense was built around turnovers so they got scored on a lot, but their offense was extremely efficient and their defense would get enough turnovers to win consistently until they faced good ground and pound teams that controlled the clock like LSU.
