Cunningham is a good guy on the team, but greatly overrated by fans here. There was one thread a while back where fans were commenting on him being better than Gurley and had a knack of seeing the hole like Marshall Faulk. Of all the backup backs over the years, I think he falls in the middle, despite being very reliable because he lacks play making ability. I take Holcomb, Canidate,by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
There is enough there with Gurley and Austin to produce more. The 1998 team with Henley and Proehl as your main guys produced more. The practice squad guys, with a gimpy Amendola and Gibson produced more. The problem has been offensive coaching and Robinson. Both have been rectified. There is no doubt that the offense will be much improved. There are questions about the Goff of courby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
and he stuck to it with confidence where I was more wishy washy about it. I felt it was a horrific pick, but said he may become a good player, but my position was it was a horrific pick regardless, because why waste 3-5 years of football on a player for him to play well on his 2nd contract. Jed - stuck to more absolute confidence that it was a bust and to stop thinking it was going to change.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
I almost didn't post it as I felt it was a little boasting, but it is something I am proud of so I shared. But telling people each day like you telling nurses that you appreciate what they do is a great form of leadership. One of Vermeils principles, is let people know that you care and appreciate their work. I posted his YouTube speech multiple times on this board and think it is tremendouby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
His 4th td pass to Issac Bruce on sideline vs 49ers. That completed the romp and was a beauty. It dropped right in there on the sideline and the Rams just blew out the team they could never beat. That was a key moment in that season.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
The lack of teammates was a surprise but He only had so much time. He choose to talk about the journey. Plus, he stayed out of that Rams/Cardinals thing and if he went there at all with teammates, he would have had to spend lots of time with both teams and than he would have had to cut out some of the other parts. I felt the other parts of his journey were more important than statingby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
NFL stands for Not for Long, You can't take raw players at #2 in the draft and wait years to develop Development Project And Not Play Making Position at #2 slot I had no problems with a 2nd round pick for that kind of player But #2 overall, to develop the player and wait while your team turns over and NFL teams turn over ever 3 years for the most part, I just can't understand. The Bradshaw awkward moment and joke was a delivery issue and a tweak here and there may have made a difference for a better speech. If he had smiled or laughed at that moment, and maybe provided context before versus after, it would have not been awkward. He isn't a professional speech giver and to me all of that can be overlooked. But the message of the Journey and Perseverance was spectby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
The GROB pick made no sense whatsoever from start Like you say, he wasn't NFL ready, a project. He had only ran an handful of running plays his entire career, There was no indication if he could even pass block, he wasn't the brightest of players, and he didn't touch the ball or rush the passer. It was a situation with the #2 pick could at best be adequate, where he developed into a goodby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
That was one awesome speech and in my biased opinion ruled the day by far. Perseverance and Self Belief. He could have approached that day and speech many ways, but he approached it in a way on how he could positively impact others no matter what they do. Very little about the destination and his time in the NFL and more about the Journey. There are so many parts that are motivatby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
In a similar situation after the chiefs made the playoffs but loss the opening game in a high scoring game. The defensive needed changes, but Vermeil stuck with his guys. After that 1 playoff game, the Kansas City Chiefs never returned to the playoffs and the defensive really didn't get addressed. I will frame the context. They apologized for missing the appointment and said there was a system glitch and than referred to the perks they gave me for the new deal that they had already given me when I placed the order a few days ago. My first experience years ago with Direct TV was positive and maybe, it will get worked out in the end after wasting so much time. Get this, I had wanted 7by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
They failed to show up for the installation today when I took off work. It is a complete debacle the way they handle business. Incompetency across the board. Bad processes, poor communication skills, and lack of ethics. They told me it was ok for them to miss the appointment because I had gotten a good deal. That is a new one that I cannot believe a customer rep would ever say.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Switched back and what they quoted and what they provided was different in a bad way for me the customer. All kinds of end arounds and stories when calling back. I actually don't think they are being dishonest. It is just poorly organized and poorly trained. But Mostly Bad business processes. They should take the order and send you an email in a couple of minutes while you are still oby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
He is a good #3 back and a good guy to have on the team. But fans here did make comparisons with him to Faulk and other greats. Also, there is more than a 50% chance that a mid round pick at half the cost can do the things Cunningham can do. Cunningham is a "Nice to Have" vs a "Must Have" His lack of big play potential is what makes him a #3 back IMO 0 - Tds iby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
The Rams passing offense was near bottom of all time. The team only ran about 3-4 passing plays on a regular basis. It was the most limited offense that I can remember. 1) Screen to Austin 2) Britt runs out and turns around after about 10 yards. 3) Throw it up for grabs deep 4) Once in a while a tight end out to the side. So any quarterback play is better than no quarterback play.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Is a great player can become a so so player after 1 injury. See how the back issues impacted the effectiveness of Quinn. I have always been critical of holdouts, but I do understand going after the guaranteed money because of the injury issues in the NFL. If his ultimate goal is to get some guarantee money now and get paid now for being the great player he is than I give him some slack witby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
For example, yards after contact. The reason is yards after contact is down, is because ever time he touches the ball there are 5 guys on him instead of 1 because of the horrific offensive approach.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
There is no doubt in my mind that Gurley will be much better. In fact, It wouldn't surprise me if he is a top 5 runningback. I was so excited about Gurley at the beginning that I thought he be at top 5 player in the NFL, but I have cooled on him. He had QB ratings in the 90's and one year in the 100's with Martz. The demise of Bulger occurred long after Martz when he started to play scared and his fundamentals and footwork and reads and preparation deteriorated. from watching him play, but you are right, how can you evaluate anything with that horrific offensive approach by the coaching staff and Greg Robinson at left tackle. The receivers were not playing up to their level of talent either. I am skeptical because of the way he looked, but do believe he will do better under the better circumstances. This is the same thing we saw from Martz with Warner, Green, and Bulger (3 guys from the scrap pile) Playing at a high level with Warner becoming a Hall of Famer. Cousins success gives great hope that it can be duplicated at some level and we finally get better QB play.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
The early years of Faulk he was a talented player, but the results were more Tiki Barber / Warrick Dunn like. But when Martz got a hold of him and put him in position to use his talents, getting him out in space both as a runner and receiver, Faulk took off and he was so dominating from 1999-2001, going from a 4.0 Yards Per Carry Back to a 5.5 Yards per carry back. the G Rob Fan Patience for Poor Play is more than I have seen in 15-20 years. And I really don't understand why? 1) Short Yardage and Goal Line - Surprisingly Jackson struggled on 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1. He had a hard time getting his body going.
