That was one awesome speech and in my biased opinion ruled the day by far.
Perseverance and Self Belief.
He could have approached that day and speech many ways, but he approached it in a way on how he could positively impact others no matter what they do. Very little about the destination and his time in the NFL and more about the Journey.
There are so many parts that are motivating, but that applies to every type of person, in every wake of life. Don't play the victim message is one that all people could learn a bunch from and is done too much in society. Take your hits and keep moving forward and no matter what your circumstances are look to fight through it and know you are a better person after you make it through.
So many good references. I had no idea he sat the bench in college for 4 years and fought through that, Not a single Hall Of Famer raised their hand when Kurt asked the question who sat on the bench for 4 years:
but I like the Brenda part where she says:
People say that he was too old. that he was too slow. That he wasn't good enough and I would find those moments to sit with him and say Kurt do you really think that you are that good. Let's just have that moment of truth and he would say
Yes, I am, I am that good!
I recently watched some movie on Lifetime station that gave another prospective of Don't play the Victim. From Homeless to Harvard. When I first started watching with my wife, I just stumbled on it by chance after one of those crazy lady stalking movie that my wife watches. As I got into it, I was close to turning it off, but something held me a little longer. When I was finished I was stunned, total disbelief what she had accomplished. I couldn't wait to tell my kids about it. That movie is a must watch "From Homeless to Harvard".
The Kurt Warner story just grew even stronger today and his experience is just unbelievable. He did a great job laying it all out to people that you make the best of your situation and realize those challenges make you as a person when you persevere.
