Much stronger than he looks. Strong hands with the ball, can make contested catches. Real precise routes to get open. Of course I don't think he'll be as good as AB. But he might be a poor man's version.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
They need to go in there and not let that place get all crazy early on by stuffing the Cards' offense. I think if they do that your prediction is very possible. Rams get behind by 10 in this one they're gonna be dead in the water.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I think he'll be on a few emergency lists around the league and with the way the RBs are droppin it's possible he gets a look if he hasn't already.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I have to think the defense would be much better, and they would still have a good offense with one of the NFL's best young QBs slingin it. Ownership can look in the mirror on that one IMO, because they had a real nice DC/OC combo with Lovie and Koetter and all they had to do was watch it grow. Say what you will about Lovie, but his teams play hard and he knows how to put a defense together.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Case is scrappy and he's doing just enough, along with showing weekly improvement that, granted, might have more to do with the defense he faced this past weekend. I do have reservations about him continuing too far into the season as QB, but overall he is doing what Fish said he would. The receivers also seem to be improving at least a little game to game thus far. They are what they are;by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I think this line is already better than last year in protections. They still have issues with stunts, for some reason they get confused by them still particularly in SF, and you can see them blow assignments when defenses crowd the line and make them doubt what they're doing. But all that aside in pass pro they're doing a good enough job and to my eye they're an average unit there. Seems to mby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Just like it is for Keenum. The offense has to show something this weekend. It's not a great defense they're facing, and they have to isolate some favorable matchups and execute. I am pulling for Boras too, and am not discounting him just yet. Him and the offense having a statement game this weekend would be amazing for this team's outlook.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
is he will know the relative strengths of his roster vs the defense he's lining up against, and stack the gameplan to best-serve his talent. That play would probably be a good call in that situation against half the defenses in this league. But Seattle is a perennial top five defense, and requiring your receivers to block out guys like Sherman in space is a tough expectation. His players exeby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Roll out a jumbo formation and hammer Gurley in there. Make them stop it. Or as you say spread them out horizontally and still mash that ball up in there. This is where our offensive identity crisis keeps coming up. Fisher says he wants an offense that can dictate the run, but he's yet to accomplish that here. He's got the back to do it, but somehow finesse type plays seem to be the norm iby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
By still early I am referring to Case's play. He improved in week 2 and he's going against a Tampa defense that has some issues on the back end. I do agree that how well he plays will affect when Goff starts, but that said there's a cap realistically on Case in terms of how well he can play week to week. I seriously doubt he can play at the level required to keep Goff on the bench, is what itby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Lakers have a deep and loyal fan base. The attendance from their last championship season was 18,997, and even with all their recent issues they still pulled in 18,997 in 2015. No matter how hard the Clips try the Lakers are ingrained into the fabric of LA and Hollywood. Kings built their brand in earnest starting with that Gretzky trade, bringing as Eric said the "glitz" and winniby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Roman's legit. I can't believe he scapegoated him man, unbelievable. Hopefully their offense suffers since they're coming to LA here real soon.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Kevin is still very much taken by the team and leadership duo of Snead and Fish, obviously. But all that aside I am not too worried about it, since if the losing continues that tone will change quickly. I mean that opening game was huge for Fisher to validate his plan of taking his QB high but still winning with Keenum and the result could not have been worse. And I just can't see the faith byby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
It would mean the defense played well, which is crucial for us having a good season. And Case would almost surely lose his job to either Goff or Mannion, which would also be good for the long term health of this team. Case just has zero room for error in this whole equation. Dude's prestige really took a hit with that first game performance and the only thing that will save him is a strong outby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I would like to see them give Groh a run, with McGinnis in his same role. In his current position Groh's below Boras, whose background is the run game, and Fish of course, whose philosophy might prevent Groh from doing what he wants to do in the passing game. Elevating him to head coach with everything else the same minus Fisher might be interesting, since he's the one guy with passing game knoby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
No way around it IMO. He made the call to put his career in Case's hands and has made the call to stick with him. He better hope Case has a great game. If Rams play poorly I think Fish will be fired post game, they will set the interim coach, and let Goff start logging snaps.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
It just struck me that Fish already gave them an in house excuse for laying down. Really irritated me to hear that. This team is not going to step up until they get a QB in there who can back defenses off. And even then this staff may be in over their heads.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
The term I used is one I often would use to generalize in arguments with those of you who I disagreed with. It is why I used quotations. I was honestly admitting I have been wrong about this regime.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
This offense has talent. But either way it's on Fish since he's the guy with full power and authority and this is year FIVE. I am done defending him, regardless.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Predictability. Plain and simple. Teams are all over what the Rams are trying to do. It's sickening man. Time to hire an offensive head coach. Do what you have to do to get someone in here who can coach Goff up and get this offense rolling.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
You were right about Fisher. Hate to say it man, but it is what it is. The dude cannot field a good offense. And now the questions are right there to be asked about the move up for Goff, how he can't beat out the "veteran" who supposedly gives you the best chance to win, why they weren't capable of coaching him up to be ready for this game, etc. Then the further questions of why tby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He's still the QB from this class that has the stuff you see the elite QBs have: quick release, accuracy, pocket awareness, and can make all the throws from the pocket. Those are the guys who log 10+ years in this league and tons of wins. QBs who run the read option can play quicker and keep defenses honest right out the gate, but are taking on a lot of extra risk in terms of hits and injurieby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Run a play action with a deep look and a safe dump off if it ain't there. Then pray Case gets the ball deep enough if he throws it.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Those are my primary worries. I think they will be ready for the whiners' run game, I mean if not it's gonna get ugly for the defense. But the coverage teams were iffy all preseason and I'm assuming it was the subbing but still worried they're gonna work the kinks out in game one.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Good stuff thanks for posting it.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Denver rushes 4 on the line on run downs. Usually Miller has contain but if he drops the other LB will usually be up. Very rare to see Denver play a straight up 3. For purposes of this discussion it is six one way, half dozen the other. Call Miller a rush backer, elephant, whatever. I don't see the Rams as light where it matters up front. Secondary they are small at CB after Tru. But tby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com

It's been the trend to assume everyone figured out his offense in the NFL, especially since Lurie gave him the can of gas and lighter in his last year. But I am not so sure that's a safe assumption. Why? Because when you look at what Chip's philosophies are, they are sound: 1. Spread out the defense and quickly hit isolated matchups. 2. Run into a box whose content you dictate. 3. Simplifby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
The Rams do not have a great defense yet. Their inability to get off the field can not be laid at the feet of the offense; sure it doesn't help, sure it would be nice to have a lead to sit on, but when you play defense your goal is to get off the field and with this unit they do a great job of stepping up in the redzone or as a team gets into their side of the field, but not so much in the firstby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
That they know he's gonna be expensive and are already putting numbers together. Maybe signing him ahead of when they need to will allow for him to take a more favorably structured contract for the team. I think you guys might be onto something there.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
