Lakers have a deep and loyal fan base. The attendance from their last championship season was 18,997, and even with all their recent issues they still pulled in 18,997 in 2015. No matter how hard the Clips try the Lakers are ingrained into the fabric of LA and Hollywood.
Kings built their brand in earnest starting with that Gretzky trade, bringing as Eric said the "glitz" and winning to LA and the franchise. They lost in the finals with Gretz, and didn't win their first cup until later, but they did win a couple cups and now I am telling you seeing a Kings game is an amazing event compared with going back in the early 80s when they were still in purple and gold and we were killin time between Lakers games.
