Roll out a jumbo formation and hammer Gurley in there. Make them stop it. Or as you say spread them out horizontally and still mash that ball up in there.
This is where our offensive identity crisis keeps coming up. Fisher says he wants an offense that can dictate the run, but he's yet to accomplish that here. He's got the back to do it, but somehow finesse type plays seem to be the norm in a lot of those situations. When you're playing a defense like Seattle's, that is disciplined and good at beating their counterparts 1 on 1, going vertical right up the gut is probably the best approach.
But anyway, I have to agree Boras looks like he's learning on the job. How quickly he gets his footing is going to impact a lot of things, from his job to our season. I just hope he looks a lot smarter vs that Tampa defense. They have problems on the back end but then again they just saw us late last year with him calling the plays so hopefully he anticipates that.
