By still early I am referring to Case's play. He improved in week 2 and he's going against a Tampa defense that has some issues on the back end. I do agree that how well he plays will affect when Goff starts, but that said there's a cap realistically on Case in terms of how well he can play week to week. I seriously doubt he can play at the level required to keep Goff on the bench, is what it boils down to IMO.
Regardless, I think the Rams are eager to get Goff in there at QB. So my guess is he starts in week FIVE, when they have a string of 3 winnable games then a bye week before playing the Panthers. Bye week, for me, would be the latest that we will see Jared Goff get his shot and only if Case plays better than he has thus far. If Case doesn't play well this weekend Goff will be forced into action.
