Two years in a row they have drafted the Rookie of the Year. They have hit on late round guys like Gaines. What universe do you live in? One where the good teams never make mistakes on any draft pick? I'd like to hear you back up that ridiculous statement.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
So it's a nice test right out the gate to see if they can go to SF, hit em in the mouth, and dominate. If they come out like they did late last year in SF, well, it's going to be a long season. If you look at Fisher's history, his teams for the most part seem to get better as the season goes on. So a fast start is a really good sign for him. That said, they were 4-3 last year before losby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Case is either up to snuff as Fisher obviously believes, or he isn't. If he's not, it's gonna be armageddon while they try to decide whether to scrap the season and give the kid the snaps he needs, whether to see what Mannion can do, etc. And Fisher will most likely not have his contract picked up or be fired even if he has an extension. If he is up to snuff the Rams will win a lot of gaby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Lurie knows full well the team is going to lose some games due to starting that rookie. He's not an idiot. What he expects, however, is the rookie to improve as the season goes on.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Philly: first year coach and GM that are not worried about losing as Wentz starts learning on the job. LA: 5th year coach and GM that ARE worried about losing as Goff learns on the job. If you reversed Goff and Wentz it would be the same exact deal IMO. Goff would be starting, I am sure of that, because that is the fastest way to learn the position. Give him all the snaps, focus, etc., anby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams 2016 roster right now vs the average... WR 7 vs 6 TE 4 vs 3 (teams with 3 usually have one on PS) OL 10 vs 9 DL 8 vs 9 LB 6 vs 7 DB 8 vs 10 So a few notes overall: Seems to me that they poached from the defense to supplement some unknowns on the offensive side of the ball, first off. I am sure some of you will question the averages I listed above, but when you look at the totaby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
How many did they PUT IN FOR? There is a difference in the wording.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
The obvious question is whether the dividends are for the next coach, of course, if Keenum isn't as good as the staff hopes. But that aside, I like what Fisher has tried to do with the position... 1. Brought in a guy who runs a QB school. A guy who had proven results with NFL QBs that think highly of his teaching. 2. Finally invested draft capital last year in the OL so the position coachby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Dude played slow and tentative, ho hum, then all of a sudden vs the Vikes he shows up and played lights out. One thing bout Williams, the dude does not F around if he thinks he's got someone better or even equivalent behind you on the depth chart. That was a statement cut IMO, for the whole defense.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
The fact that they have 3 safeties on the roster means they might be cookin something up. Maybe a trade, or maybe a recent cut. But I don't see Fish trying to add to the wideouts when he kept 7; chances are the bottom couple were told they'd better show up, starting in SF, before Coop returns.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
They're not afraid of the team sucking while he learns on the job. He gets the snaps he needs. This is why you never see a head coach in year 5 move up to one overall for a QB. And why the Rams' situation is different from the other QBs taken high.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Barring that he would have ended up being a pretty good QB in this league IMO.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Not gonna disagree on Sherman or argue about his firing, as his track record speaks for itself. But the assumption that this offense is going to be chicken feces is possibly a false one. The signs are there that we will have a strong OL this year, and that's something that makes all the coaches look good. It is also possible that even with poor depth at WR our production overall can be carriby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Not buying all the hoopla over Fisher's extension and don't think it matters even if he gets it. If this team tanks he's gone and Stan moves on with another vet coach, probably Shanahan Sr., who would definitely get this offense rolling. 6 million is nothing to Stan when he's got a team that nearly tripled in value with the move to LA; most important thing is that the team wins now and everyoneby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
The improvement in the last two weeks shown by Magee is noteworthy. Not to mention Green's play, or how much better both Cunningham and Brown are; they have every back in the room hitting on all cylinders and probably two young players will move on to other teams because of it. The new TE coach is as well. Higbee looks to be getting much more focus and competition by defenses now, but cleaby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Moving him in to RG in his current health state might equal a Pro Bowl type season. He's average at RT, but likely more than that at RG. Also the upgrade in consistency up front on the interior would be significant with Brown dropping to backup, depth better too. As soon as Hav is ready he's going to move right back in to RT. It isn't even a question, just about his health IMO.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Assuming he plays of course. But I think he will. After him I expect Spruce to make some good catches and get pulled since he might be earmarked for the slot to start the season. Among the rest of the young wideouts my bet is McRoberts. He's gotten a lot of play in the returns and might be ready to settle in enough to shine tonight.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
1. Glennon (Tampa). His upside isn't amazing, but he has been around the league and might have starter ability in the right situation, i.e. with a running game and stout defense. 2. Either Smith or Petty (NYJ). Jets drafted Slackenburg and will keep 3 QBs tops. Both have some upside to possibly be starter level players and both have at least a couple camps under their belts.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
This is a business. They invested a 3rd round pick in Mannion. Since that time they invested far more into the QB position, and that original 3rd round investment is sitting on the depth chart with two players in front of him. If some team were to offer a round 2 pick the Rams would have to move on it.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
If he was starting Keenum someone would be saying "why in the F are we risking the guy who we need to hold the reigns for now?" I actually agree with this decision. I am with GRITS in that I think Goff could play if necessary, but if Keenum's the guy the staff believes will win us games now then they need to hold him out and not risk losing him to injury. Case knows wtf he's doing,by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
IMO it has nothing to do with Fish wanting to stroke his own ego. He's a comfortable guy in his position and power and even when pressed during conferences on who makes the decisions he says it's a team. I think it's all about them controlling what gets out. They have let a lot less insider info out than some other teams when it comes to player evaluation, progress, etc. The conversations wby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams would too IMO. That round 2 pick is far more valuable to the team than a 3rd string QB.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I seriously doubt they'll do like the Rams and move forward trusting that Bridgewater will be the same guy next year, or that he will stay healthy. They have a very good roster and need someone who might be able to improve through the season instead of run into a brick wall when defenses start taking away what they're good at, as you see with career backup types. At least with a younger QB whoby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah btw, I do remember that feeling and don't miss it lol. But the Vikes won't stand pat, they have too good a roster and they know it. Look for them to make a move for a QB, probably with the Jets at the least. Geno Smith or Bryce Petty aren't exciting, but at least they have some upside.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Two of three (Y, Z) allow for motion and a free release if and when the OC desires to utilize it. So on a given roster it follows that you don't need all wideouts who are of the standard size/speed ratio to play X. Where I'm going with this is even if he can't play out wide at X there are two other wideout positions he can fill for this team. And when it comes to X, I agree with you Rock thaby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com

First, they have had successive weeks against the 3rd and 4th ranked defenses in the league in points allowed last year. Both teams finished very high in sacks/pressures. The Broncos allowed only 199 ypg through the air which was by far the best in the league (#2 was Seattle with 210 ypg). The Chiefs weren't as good against the pass, but were still 9th with 231 ypg. Pay the dude enough to get him in early, give him a two year contract even, but get him in here. That's what I would have done even if I had to overcome his desire to go to a more established offense. He would have been the perfect addition to demonstrate to these young wideouts what a professional WR looks like.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Even among the greatest of them it seems like year two is when they show. Such a tough position that if by some miracle Higbee comes out and kills it the team is going to deserve a lot of credit for not only taking a chance on him but coaching him up so quickly. Been saying that, btw... That our new TE coach has made an instant and profound impact with our group. Kendricks looks smoother anby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
