Well you might say that McVay cost the Rams 2 first rounders because of the mishandling of the Goff situation. Don't doubt for a moment that McVay was no on the same page as Snead when making the player acquisition decisions. They knew the were pushing the can down the road and eventually there would be a price to pay. They had to make choices and chose the Super Bowl. They can still putby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Higbee and Hopkins will be a FA after the season and Hopkins as the 2nd TE is iffy at best TE is a position that often takes time for players to develop before they become effective so getting a rookie this year seems pretty important. TE needs to rank up there after Edge but adding a RB and OL are pretty big too. DB will have major losses too. Looking forward to Alyo & Deadpool toby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
It is really difficult to know what the dynamics were around these coaches. But we haven't seen this type of housecleaning before under McVay. Interesting days ahead. Since the coaches are involved in the player evaluations for the draft and UDFA it will be interesting to see how player evaluation is impacted. The roster is next and one wonders if there will be a similar overhaul. I guesby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Great Post McVay/Snead are as good as I have seen. I remember the George Allen years as a kid and those great teams in the mid to late 60's. I loved the Dickerson years but wish we had a QB. Ground Chuck Knox & Robinson were good coaches but they focused on a ground game with a solid defense. Dicky V was great but only here a few years. Martz was the Mad Scientist that went Mad and lby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Maybe we just need to get back to the roots of the Shannahan/McVay offense. I watched SF versus SEA and the SF offense comes out of the same roots as the Rams offense. What you see with SF is a lot of quick developing plays with players that can break tackles. You also see a decent & creative run game. And SF uses a lot of Play Action when passing the ball. McVay for the first time as a head coach has to deal with adversity. He has been the wonder boy ever since he took over and his success has covered up any mistakes he made along the way. Certainly the injuries that wiped out the offensive line are not his fault and those injuries were so bad it is doubtful any coach could overcome those and still prosper. But the failures of the Rams thisby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
If McVay leaves he will land a TV Gig and make more than he did coaching. If Donald leaves he is leaving 18.5Mil for 2023 and $30 Mil for 2024 and there is probably not TV Gig for him. Donald has a lot more to lose. McVay will just be changing jobs.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Quote3030 Hard to say. We don't know how much is McVay and how much is Coen. He's had to deal wih the injured OL, injured WR's, injured QB's and a frustrated RB. Not sure Mike Martz himself could manufacture an offense under these conditions. Agree it was a total cluster which was impossible to fix. Also we crapped the bed on the rookie RB coach.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
My comments on the offensive lines were related to the quality of the offensive line last 2 season Goff played with the Rams as compared to Detroit's current offensive line. I can't say I am an expert in this category but it seems like the quality of the offensive line in Goff's last 2 season with the Rams was average to slightly above average and Detroit has invested some picks in the last coupby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

Goff has performed very well this season. It would seem he would rank somewhere in the 8-12 range based on performance. Certainly, it seems like you can have a high powered offense with him at QB if you have the right players and offensive scheme to go with him. So why did he fail so badly the last 2 seasons with the Rams? Did we not have the offensive players to compliment him? Seems liby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Rapp continues to play himself out of the comp pick discussion. Safety is a big hole this year and it will be worse next season. Not a big fan of Fuller either due to his lack of availability.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

After a very disappointing year we are starting to see some really big bright spots and some exciting young players that are ready to contribute in a much bigger way next season. While we got Cam for another year it is time to draft his replacement. Williams has proven to be a nice complimentary back. 43 I agree with your sentiments of wanting to keep BM. Unless there is not a good market to BM talents which I find highly unlikely, there is basically no way he stays with the Rams. I don't think any secret deal would be legal or enforceable and why would Stafford agree to retire early? Would he have to give up money? Baker Mayfield is going to be a FA and he will leave the Rams for a starting position on another team. He has played himself into being a NFL caliber starting QB and will take the money and the opportunity as he should. The big difference for Baker is that he gets to pick the situation next season. This gives him all the leverage. Baker will probably have an opportunity to sign a deal forby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

Next Season the Rams can have a playoff quality roster so why would you rebuild next season? You wait until the all the cap cheats for future years catch up with you then you rebuild by eating a bunch of dead money for a couple of season while you accumulate young talent and free up $$$ to add more cornerstone players.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
It seems like we have a lot of young inexperienced guys emerge, like Durant, Tutu, Hoecht etc and blame the coaches for not putting them in earlier. First off I would say that we should recognizing that the coaches are doing a good job getting these young inexperienced players ready to play and contribute at a high level. None of these guys are high first rounders who come ready to play. No thby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Michael Hoecht has been a great discovery. He looks like he will be a big cog in next years defense. I imagine with Donald back he will thrive. We seem to have a lot of young players emerging because they got a chance due to the huge amount of injuries. This can only bode well for next season.
