It seems like we have a lot of young inexperienced guys emerge, like Durant, Tutu, Hoecht etc and blame the coaches for not putting them in earlier. First off I would say that we should recognizing that the coaches are doing a good job getting these young inexperienced players ready to play and contribute at a high level. None of these guys are high first rounders who come ready to play. No they must be developed and they are still a work in progress.
What we are seeing is the development of young talent and when they get their chance in games they prove themselves or they don't in the case of Hendricks & maybe Rochelle. Durant came from a small school and probably had a bigger learning curve than Hendricks who came from the National Championship Team. It would makes sense that Durant took longer to master the defense. But is also makes sense that Durant is better than Hendricks as he when a few rounds earlier in the draft.
While this year sucks, mostly due to injuries, we should celebrate that it looks like we have an excellent CB to play the outside for next season opposite Ramsey. Those types of players on not easily found especially outside the 1st 2 rounds of the draft. I don't understand all the hoopla regarding Durant, a small school guy who got banged up early and missed some time and took a while to learn the defense and when he is finally ready to play we piss all over the coaches for not playing him earlier.
