The stats are objectedive. Not biased. So while not perfect
they do outline what has happened IN RELATION
to other defenses in the NFL.
The same people are saying the same things over and over
THIS thread was about fairness and truth. And they don't get it
and never will. That is what happens when people fixate
their hate.
They cannot even have a civil conversation without crapping
on Morris.
They cannot even deny the truths I set out.
The truth is the defense is nowhere near as bad
as they say.
They may not like it, they may think it is not up to snuff
they may think it is not as good as Staley's. All those
things are reasonable and defensible.
What is not reasonable and what is not defensible
is that the Rams defense is anywhere the disaster
they have in mind.
So again I have proven that thee at anti-Morris
fanatics. They don't WANT to discuss the defense
in any reasonable way. THis thread was their chance
And what did they do?
Denied the truth. And are *trying* to say that stats
ar false. They denigrate things that do not agree
with their narratives.
They will take quotes out of context (a logical fallacy)
They will also pull out a quote about statistics
sayin there are lies, damned lies, and statistics.
They will focus on the statistics as one of the three lies
while ignoring their own lies, which are the first two
things in the series.
It is a lie to say this is a bad defense.
Defenses are ranked in a variety of statisics. It has
been done that way for a long time. To keep them
from being skewed smart people, without agenda,
use all of those stats to look at an offense and
defense and special teams.
They look at yards, rushing yards, passing yards
turnovers, sacks, passes defensed, and points
allowed to discover what a defense does in relation
to other teams. That is how they evaluate.
I remember in 1980 Ray Malavasi was asked a question
about Ferragamo having a had issue. He said that
"we don't expect to pass that much, we don't need to
we are the number one rushing team in the NFL"
Football statistics are part of why teams win an lose.
Good teams put up good statistics.
Bad teams put up bad statistics
Average teams put up average statistics.
So they need to put away their disdain for facts
Stats are facts. And they have no agenda.
Now, the lies that are most concerning are another
reason to start this thread.
The lies I mentioned.
Facts prove Rams defense is what it is.
Facts prove the defense is not a bad one and worthy
of a coach being fired.
Bad defensive coordinators get fired because of?
Bad stats. They give up too many points on average
they cannot stop teams from moving the ball
thus and so.
Even if they don't think the defense is good, thay
a team in the top half of all the stats and top
10-12 in many others and top 5 in a few
they cannot in a reasonable, intelligent way
say this defense is god-awful.
They will you their "own eyes". Well, when someone has an agenda
they see things in their own way. They are not objective.
That is why there are phrases like "rose colored glasses" and
so on. The way they interpret things is the problem with that
because if they just focus on the Rams then they cannot
compare what they are seeing to other things.
Their so-called "eyes" have no ability to see things they do not
look at. Because if they DID they would be able to see
what bad defenses look like. And Bad defenses look a lot
worse than Rams. Bad defenses give up more points
and if they watched they'd know that.
So this "my own eyes" is just another way to lie to further
the crop on Morris agenda. They think "their eyes"
see things better than other people who also have "eyes".
They do not understand that their eyes are no more
of an authority than someone else's eyes. It is
a simple copout to deny the truth. Another way to
say the defense is worse than it really is.
They want to use "their eyes" to say the defense
is crap and that Morris should have been fired a long time
ago.
Their so-called "eyes" see a defense that is among
the worst, if not the worst in the NFL
It is a lie to say that.
it is not a lie to say the defense is not great
it is not a lie to say the defense is a disappointment
It is a lie to say Morris is not smart
It is a lie to say Morris has no stones
It is a lie to say somehow Morris morphed into a good coach for 4 games in the playoffs.
No matter what they think he is the same guy now as then.
This thread shows all these things and I KNEW it was going to happen.
If statistics don't agree with their narrative they will crap on them
just as they crap on Morris.
The truth is stats when taken in context as I have described
tell more truth than people with an agenda.
Other than that it is wonderful to have a hypothesis and then
watch it unfold. And in their denigration of stats they will
evaluate things that are nothing but biased.
Bait takers!!! LOL
