historical data influencing my current expectations... and historical as in all the way back to the 60's. At the same time I don't think that's a very logical way to 'predict'. Which, by the way, I'm not saying you did... fully that is... you gave facts to back it up.
With a SB victory last year it's easy to think, believe, the Rams last year were at the top of their game... elite... but last year did not seem that way to me. To me, and for the most part, the Rams did "just enough"... they squeaked by often. They did it consistently, however. Why? Simple: They had the ability and talent and coaching to do it. And to me those things remain intact.
Furthermore... for this current era the Ram's pretty much enter 2022 unscathed by key player losses, contract issues... all those things that today are damn near inevitable, for all teams.
I think what I'm getting at here is that I see the Rams on the rise.... they won a SB "WHILE STILL GETTING IT TOGETHER".... and that is super impressive, if true. Also... I believe that's been the case since McVay was hired.... steady, consistent, improvement..... and sure, some setbacks... but it's never always one step forward to the top... there is always that one step back at least once along the way.
When I think of 2021 into 2022 for the Rams it's more like that build we all know is coming for the truly great teams that occur within one season.. the second half... so for me I expand that to seasons... 2021 was the first half... not fully there yet... 2022 the 2nd half... and we'll see BUT... the gears and cogs in place. - JamesJM
