Interesting. We have a bunch of No Nos for Tutu.
At first, the complaints are about his lack of size, comments on him being injury prone and/or his lack of production. But, later, it includes the old complaints that he was a bad pick because a certain center was available when McSnead chose Atwell. I was hoping for the center. He seemed like a much better choice because it didn't look like we even had a center and this particular center was/is very good. But, what we didn't know (and McSnead did) was that Allen could emerge as a plus center. In fact, we just won the Super Bowl with Allen snapping every down. Also, before selecting Tutu we looked very deep at the WR position. Kupp, Woods, Jefferson, Desean. Where would he play? All so true. And yet, Woods got hurt and Desean lost his mind and left the team. Tutu also got hurt, but would most likely had been thrown into the fire instead of SKOW. We ended up getting OBJ and it worked out. This year Kupp is our returning super star. OBJ is hurt and not signed, we signed a new "star" WR2 in Robinson, Jefferson returns at WR3. SKOW is back. Desean isn't coming back and we need a speed guy. That is Tutu at WR4.
A couple of things. He can't make himself taller.
He could gain some weight and probably will.
He can't change where he was picked. He can work harder, be better prepared by knowing the playbook and learning both the NFL schemes and become a better returner. Apparently he is doing all that. McVay and Kupp have praised him.
We shall see. What nobody talks about is his speed. He will always be the fastest guy on the field. If he gets daylight he is gone. And he showed good hands, so if/when he gets open he will snag the ball. So, it's up to the Rams to figure out how to get him open. If he's returning, they must find him a running lane. Creed is a terrific football player. Would love to have him. But, he is a Chief. Tutu is a Ram. I'm rooting for the Ram.
