ALSO.... I didn't - at all - like the two remarks in the past about the owners asking/incentivizing HCs to throw games for draft picks. The NFL "could" do something like have a small pool of money set aside every year that incentivizes the two worst teams last 4 games and pay players to win. The reason is to override/overpay any private moneys an owner might offer his team to tank. This is a really bad issue that could sink the NFL if fans know that this "tanking" concept is a real thing - not just fan talk. The NFL had better nip this in the bud RIGHT NOW...or it will fester and fans will lose any trust left that the guys always play their very best and to win. Just pay them a tad more and the majority of the roster that doesn't make millions will fight like hell for and extra 100k or somethin.
This is a good idea, but I think that it'd also have to include the coaches as well, right?
I mean...if an owner has no shame in trying to bribe a HC to lose games, what's to say that they won't go to someone more vulnerable (i.e. a coordinator/position coach) as an end-run around a HC who wants no part of that? The HC can't be everywhere at all times.
