Well, we agree that Wolford will likely be back and just fine in plenty of time for the season.
And we both like Wolford as a backup for Stafford.
We apparently differ as to whether Minshew would A) be a significant upgrade over Wolford and whether Minshew would be more than worth a 6th from next years draft. Since we own a handful of 6ths in next years draft already I see this as a no brainer value for the Rams.
Fine by me to agree to disagree, though.
Where did I disagree exactly?Quote

If Wolford was going to miss a month or more, I would be all over acquiring Minshew for a 6th, 5th or even a 4th round draft pick.
Gardner Minshew as back up QB over the last 2 seasons has merit.

I only implied if Wolford was going to miss a month or more, I'm fine standing pat with him as the backup QB.
Common sense 43, I'm not disagreeing with you at all.If the Rams or any other team could simply acquire Minshew for a 6th round draft pick, you jump on that trade yesterday regardless of who your backup quarterback is.
31 NFL GM's haven't offered a 6th, 5th or any draft pick for Minshew.
That is very odd to me if that's all it takes to acquire a top 5 NFL backup quarterback.
Minshew is on record saying he wants to be a starting QB.
There is more to Minshew's availability than we might realize.
