I know McVay has his plans for Harris at TE...but man, I just don't see it in any of his vids. Harris looks like a big, tall, fast WR...like a Megatron-lite. It's always interesting how HCs use these tweener WR/TE types. One could argue that Megatron would have been the best TE in the history of the NFL at 6-5, 240lbs...or the monster WR in Seattle
(name??...damn i forgot) who has the same measurables...why don't Seattle move him to TE so he could use his size & speed to absolutely dominate?! It's always an interesting question with how teams use their players body types.
I just think a player(Harris) with very little experience at the position would be used very simply at the position he is a little used to...WR. He looks to like THAT kind of player to me...not a TE. Skowronek looks like a better version of Mundt and has the fiery/physical demeanor to be a punishing blocker for his 220lb frame and great hands for intermediate contested catches in tight coverage from the TE position or slot. Especially after this article -
Skowronek articleI just want to get the rookies on the field faster and it's best to have them not think too much to do it..so they can play fast. just my thoughts...the HC and staff know far more about the situation and what they want and what they think the kid can handle. we'll see
Skowronek will probably be used in a role that best allows him to see the field, whatever that might be called. A lot of these rookies are gonna fall into that category while the coaches sort out their athleticism assets. Gonna be fun to see the tinkering, that’s for sure.
