The hyperbole on Goff is that he could not feel pressures. That's mythic level exaggeration. The reason sacks were low in spite of the pressures is because the qb kept them lower. And there were a few games in 2020 where the Rams passing game was fine in spite of unusually high pressures (like the 1st Arizona game: 17 pressures in that game yet only 1 sack and a 78.7% completion percentage and a qb rating of 104.9).
Stafford with nearly the same percentage of pressures in 2020 allowed
more sacks...and that was with a better OL.
So looking to Stafford to compensate for OL issues is fool's gold. Stafford needs the OL to be solid. He's not this magic OL cure some are telling themselves he is.
So it's simple. No, nothing backs the idea that playing Stafford is automatically going to mean that OL issues do not matter.
