I watched all the film I could get my hands on with the ILBs who were slated in our range on the mocks. And I saw the same player in Cox as you describe him.

Felt he was overrated all along because you cannot be a liability vs the run if you want to go early as an ILB. The guys who go early are at the very least good vs the run and have upside to play well vs the pass. Cox (and Surratt too for that matter) had the pass side down. But the run weakness was real with both those guys.

Either of those guys could develop that run game ability and end up being elite players. But Cox with all his physical gifts is soft to my eye at least. And guys who are soft tend to not become tougher at the NFL level.
