Remember as a kid reading the draft guides, and reports at the news stands.
These insights from DP are THAT !!
Once again a few remarks just lit up my systems......
Let's see.........
First
4. When the Rams said they liked their OL, they were not lying. I am still not as convinced, but what do I know.Don't get me started. The KNOW factor is off the charts with DP.
There's serious implications for the "All In" move by the club in regards to a QB swap, and suspects to protect the franchise, and execute along the OL front.
Continuing the chorus of concerns is that early on we should be OK. The first 4 games should be survivable, but we've got a pensioner at LT (Whitworth is a miracle, but this sport and age is a cul de sac of no return) and how does the new age system of not playing starters in preseason, and avoiding contact translate?
Second
This pick also signifies the Rams are fully gone from Phillips stop the run on the way to the QB system to a multiple fronts, control the LoS system. 34, 43, 425. They now have personnel that can make that happen. If the safeties can hold up, this defense might be insane.See, I just learned stuff. Remember Phillips like to use on OLB as a standup, and the other with a hand in the dirt. That seems to have vanished.
For me, the absence of JJ3 and Fox still has ramifications for us. The remark, "If the safeties can hold up," is utterly captivating.
Third
Roche and Rashed still made more sense to me as I am not a fan of the edge rushers until obo and Lewis can stay healthy. You know, one can't unring the bell, and, baby, did DP just toll that puppy. I like Garrett. However, the pressing history of Obo, and now Lewis and their health made for an easy point and shoot in the draft. Taking a couple of flyers, or even one flyer on an edge guy would have made sense. No shock if the waiver wire becomes a choice after the cutdowns in late August.
Giant step backwards in the storyline. Tutu? OK. Let the kid jump out there and get some snaps. Run the Jet, Run him as a decoy.
My high "E" string on the Ram Electric guitar sounds like it's going to snap. TWANG. See, as I look across that depth chart at WR there's a serious blank spot where Josh Reynolds was. Sure, DeSean is that guy. But like my E string, both DeSean and Tutu make me think that hamstrings are just waiting to tweak, and that if either Woods or Kupp find extended time off the field there's a mighty chance that we don't have horses to take up the slack.
DP noted that some preseason highlights await with some of the guys they brought in. I tend to agree. The kids may have a great time out there, and shine bright. Against the 2nd and 3rd team units? You bet. Just not sure if that warrants making the 53.
