I did not know that Evero had coached with Morris under Kiffen in TB. I am glad they have a shared mentor and history. They should work well together.
I liked what McVay said about how AD, Brockers, and SDJ all improved under Henderson.
The promotion is a big step up for Wes Phillips' career. He will be on the radar in the NFL now. Being the pass game coordinator on McVay's offense is a springboard to an OC position or more.
I did not realize McVay competed against Thomas Brown as prep player. The confidence, command the room, can tell me what I need to hear, comments sound like great assistant head coach traits. Like Wes Phillips, Thomas Brown is much more visible and could be on NFL head coaches' offensive coordinator shortlists now.
Every coach who stayed was promoted. That also sets a tone not to be quick to jump ship. When others leave it is an opportunity for those who stay.
If you had told me in December the Rams would lose Defensive Coordinator Staley, CB coach Aubrey Pleasant, Pass Game Coordinator Waldron, Run Game Coordinator, and name Oline coach Kromer (along with the director of college scouting Brad Holmes) I would have been concerned. There are some big individual losses and a cumulative effect. (With Snead's staff I would have gone for John Dorsey rather than Ray Farmer. It looks like the Rams got the wrong former Browns GM. From my couch, lol, I say get the man who traded up to draft Mahomes, and later Baker Mayfield rather than the guy drafted Johnny Manziel). But I am seeing the vision of the new coaching hires and the restructuring.
McVay certainly sounded like he respects Raheem Morris. Kevin Carberry sounds like a very good hire and a great fit. I am glad Evero, Henderson and O'Connell were retained. Joe DeCamillis is a seasoned NFL ST's coach.
