I think he looked visibly uncomfortable and almost angry in a couple of spots.
I'll just say what's on my mind: McVay looks like a brilliant football mind, but also like a guy that is impatient and very likely starts to grate on people.
I don't think all the coaches leaving and the handling of Goff is a good look for McVay, nor do I share the opinion it was guys getting better opportunities. Don't buy that at all.
I also think his interviews suck. At times it's laughable. He walks everyone around in circles saying absolutely nothing......his interviews remind me of the scene in Wizard of Oz where he is caught and starts saying 'pay no attention to the man behind the curtain'
I'm guessing he is going for the throat this season. I expect a more intense guy. I already see him.
That's fair. We've seen him continually get more intense from the happy to be here guy he was his first year. I definitely think he grates on people. He does "coach speak" and does it well. We'd all like more frankness but that is a different kind of slippery slope. Easy to lose the locker room that way.
My thinking is that Stafford has his own issues and while he will likely have some awesome games in 2021, he may also blow a few most wouldn't expect (because all QBs have bad games every season). If the rams get into a 2-3 game rut, will McVay become unhinged? That potential is there.
We all see a fire burning deep down inside that he is suppressing.
So what got him back to at least talking like the guy of 2 years ago(meaning takes blame first and says only positives about players)? Does he have some kind of mentor/advisor? Is he just more loose because it's the off-season?
