But after four years together, they had developed what they could. It was good. Kromer is excellent and this is not a reflection of him lacking ability.

My contention is that McVay is seeking more than what he's had. It may not work. The new guy might not be as good a teacher, but Sean's history suggests that the ability to teach and communicate is paramount. I doubt that after four years, McVay and Kromer haven't exhausted their dynamic of possibilities. My belief is that our coach is looking to expand in ways we won't fully anticipate.

Of course it's not a reflection of Kromer lacking ability.

And Kromer is famously a teacher and McVay has acknowledged that.

It may be a reflection of one or the other or both of them lacking the ability to listen, adjust, compromise, handle differences, and so on. It actually could be that McVay needed to hear something, and wouldn't. The simple truth is, you cannot rule that out. There's no basis to rule that out.

The difference between us on this is that you cannot seem to imagine McVay as the one who is causing the problem. Me, instead, I simply don't rule that out. I don't have a dedicated always-pro anybody narrative on this. I just acknowledge there are 3 possibilities--McVay is a problem on this, Kromer is a problem on this, they both are a problem on this.

When we hear more there will be a clearer picture.
