But McVay, in his pursuit of 'the best coaches' also sacrifices loyalty to his current coaches. They are sharing a foxhole and everybody needs to have each other's back. If McVay is constantly looking to upgrade then that breeds people wanting to leave for other places where they are more in line with promotions and more money. With all the leadership examples and experience I find it hard to believe that McVay is running his ship this way, but then you have 7 coaches departing in a single offseason. McVay's actions emphasize competence over loyalty and there's a price to be paid there.
