Very thoughtful post. Well done Leo! This is certainly on the more optimistic end of the spectrum.
I thought McVay was silly for letting Wade go (an all-time proven DC) in favor of a LB upstart position coach. Jury is not complete yet because Staley only had 1 year but that by all accounts appears to have been a major upgrade. We will see what Staley can do on his own now.
Now if McVay gets this Giants line coach (or some other upstart) and the Rams line starts to dominate, then McVay will have done it again and proven you can go from experienced to fresh and improve.
As I myself get longer in years, I can see the interplay between experience and innovative hunger for change.
Cryptocurrencies are the perfect example to me of a new technology that is flashy and likely to change our world significantly 10-15 years in the future. The experienced part of me says that it doesn't have wide adoption yet so this is likely yet another bubble ala 2000 dot com. It will have a big crash before it becomes mainstream. Not if, but when.
Exciting times for technology and the Rams!
I actually am not all that convinced that 1 year of Staley is better than 2 more years of Wade.
