If I can butt in for a sec... there was a Nov. 2020 article in Sports Illustrated in which McVay does express some regret in losing Zuerlein; however, he doesn't say a word about Fassel. Is it possible that this is what zn is recalling and not McVay regretting Fassel's loss?
I am not recalling anything.
I am reading other posters NOW who argue that they saw it that the Rams wanted Fassell back but he left on his own decision.
They did not present evidence any more than the people who claim the Rams DID NOT want Fassell back present evidence for that position.
My actual claim is, there are different versions of that story going around. That's it, that is all I claimed.
Your article settles nothing when it comes to that issue btw. That's not an admonishment of you--it just doesn't.
Was Fassell not wanted back. Did they want him back but he didn't want to come back. Which is it? When someone has direct evidence for one version or other of that story, naturally and obviously I will read it with interest.
