So what is stability worth? That’s the question that must be answered to truly evaluate the difference in the trades. I don’t believe it can be answered concretely. Subjectivity, we’ve got in Stafford a QB that is commonly believed can take us on a legit Super Bowl run. The Eagles otoh remain in limbo. I don’t know how to put a value on that difference in terms of draft picks.

Well, Maxie agreed that the Eagles will be getting draft choices back, but that is because they are not getting a QB in return, they will roll with Hurts, but they won't have Wentz's contract either, that might free them up to make other moves. The issue here is, I believe unless the Colts pony up more capital they are going to fall short. Colts GM Chris Ballard probably feels he can give the Eagles less because Indy is the place Wentz wants to go, but the Eagles will send him to Chicago if the deal is better and Ballard will miss out and might have to sign Jameis Winston instead.

The problem the Eagles have now is the closer we get to the draft the less they are likely to get for Wentz. Draft picks are viewed as more valuable the closer you are to the draft. If they aren’t getting a first round pick for Wentz now, then they aren’t getting one right before the draft. Imagine the Bears selling Wentz to their fan base as their first round pick on draft day? Forget it.

Teams are still looking at the possibility of trading for Watson, and even guys like Wilson and Carr are getting phone calls. It’s quite possible that the Eagles get little in return for Wentz and are praying Hurts works out. They can make other moves to strengthen their roster, but they will still have a big question mark at QB.

The Lions may have a question mark at QB now even with Goff, but they have a ton of draft capital to address that and other issues in the next 2 years.

Personally, I don’t see much difference between Goff and Wentz. It’s hard to say for sure until we see Goff out from under McVay.
