1) With the Stafford trade, they now have a 2-3 year window to try to win a Super Bowl. That's how long they have their core - Stafford, Donald, Ramsey, Woods, Kupp - locked up for the next 2-3 years. They've already pushed most of their chips to the middle of the table. No need to be bashful and hold some back now.

2) They won't have many pressing, must resign free agents in 2022-2023. Here's the entire list of 2022 free agents:

*D. Williams - (If he's not signed by another team this year as a Restricted Free Agent.)
Corbett
Deayon
Holba
*Noteboom
Demby
Allen
Young
*Gay
Reed
Hughes
Kiser
Okoronkwo
Moncrief
*Joseph-Day
Lawler
*Wolford
Reeder
Webster
Brewer

That's 20 free agents and by my count, 15-16 of them are jags. After D. Williams, even the 4 I can see them really wanting to resign - Gay, SJD, Noteboom, and Wolford - it wouldn't really hurt us if all of them left maybe with the exception of Gay. We don't want anymore kicking issues.

Gaines could replace SJD now. Noteboom is just ok. And I doubt they want to spend too much money on a backup QB.

The only huge potential loss in 2022 would D. Williams and who knows, maybe they find a way to pay him.

Point being, reserving a ton of cap flexibility for 2022 and 2023 is not necessary because the core is largely locked up and there are few upcoming free agents that will either break the bank or are must signs.
