The meaning of massive restructure can take two forms. One is to extend a contract and put much of the cap expenditure into future years and the other is to lower the cap figures by offering more guaranteed money to the players. Either way, the cap can be manipulated for 2021 at the sacrifice of cap expenditure in future years. Okay. So you're NOT saying "restructure" means the player gives back money.

A lot of people do say that and I couldn't tell by reading you.

The usual way the Rams do it btw is to turn salary or roster bonuses into prorated signing bonuses.

Anyway I agree with the red bit.
