I agree that Sean has to know, right or wrong, for better or for worse, he has absolutely raised the expectations of both the team and himself. Fair or not, no one cares about the coaches we've lost, or the new DC or the possibilities of injuries to Stafford or any other. This move better improve a team that was a game away from the big dance. Should we expect to straddle the NFC West again? Absolutely. Should be compete for the #1 seed in the NFC throughout the season? I would hope so. And as has been pointed out, these are the things the great teams do. We weren't even given wild-card status at the beginning of this season, and you can bet that will not be the case next season. So, to end it, I don't see this as a failure if we miss the Super Bowl by a game next year (as much as I hope we don't). I will see this as a miss if we don't win the West and don't make the Championship.
