As much as how well liked Goff was, sure as a person, he was well liked. But as far as a qb, he was losing some fans. Not all certainly, heck probably less than 25% of the fans, but the shine certainly was starting to wear off some this year.
It's tough for me to judge that in North Dakota because the only exposure I have to other Rams fans is this board. And usually message boards are the die hards. And there were more than a few posters that have been frustrated with Goff.
That said, Goff was liked and he was a winner. Your point is by jettisoning Goff, McVay layed alot of or all of the offenses woes on Goff and now there shouldn't be any excuses. That I can agree with.
I still think McVay prefers a more mobile qb that can bootleg and make off schedule plays with his athleticism and legs, but Stafford was a very nice consolation prize. And this last part is me guessing. Regardless, the Rams are locked in and riding with Stafford.
And honestly, in the wild west, who better to ride with than a tough, fearless gunslinger?
