That is a lot put on one man's shoulders to carry us to the Super Bowl. Don't forget we have a new Def Coordinator and lots of new coaches. Let alone a few holes that were problems even before the trade. This trade was a daring move to move us to the next level. We won't know if it moved us up the ladder or down the ladder until we see both the offense and defense perform. Stafford may be the greatest qb under McVay, but our new DEF Coordinator may be horrible. Let's hope Stafford lives up to the trade and the rest of the team keeps working hard and is successful.
nope, no excuses for me at this point....Got rid of Gurley then Cooks now Goff.. Sean has ran out of excuses and scapegoats at this point.
We had a new DC and new coaches last year too(I don't think Goff has had the same OC year to year ever) and Goff took the 20th ranked defense to a Super Bowl in 2018
McVay crowned Stafford as "Atlas" with that trade(great analogy btw)
I remember Sean's comments after the divisional round after his defense was dragged up and down the field, he called out the offense for not tying the game up after the defenses finally made its first stop in like the 4th qtr
To me, McVay put that on Goff and here we are....Stafford better be able to outdo Rodgers when our defense is getter boat raced for this trade to be worth it
as a season ticket holder I cant wait to see it!!!
Man I hate getting off work and missing the time to respond on the board! Rampage, I see where you are coming from. My post was responding to all the posts saying they felt this team is now somehow a lock to the NFC title game or even better, the super bowl. Stafford could go for MVP next year, but if our D diminishes (I am not a fan of our new D coordinator), or we continue to struggle to block for more than 1.5 seconds on pass plays, it ain't happening! I love the Rams and as a long time (1971) fan and once a season ticket holder, I do not want to return to those horrible 90's years and 2005-2016 of being perennial losers with no hope for the playoffs halfway through the season. McVay is all in to win and I love that. His ship will sink or sail with Stafford now. My point was that Rams Nation does not lie just on Stafford's shoulders, McVay and Snead better fill the holes and I pray our D coordinator does not destroy the growth and success our D brought us this year.
