No FA is going to cost less AND perform better. And we might just being trading Goff's flaws for someone else's flaws and spending all the cap savings in the process. That doesn't sound like progress. There's not likely anyone in the draft at the bottom of round 2 who can start right away and outplay Goff.

I don't agree. We don't need Dak or Watson at a ridiculous cost to get a better fit and more production than Goff has provided the last 2+ years. I'm talking guys like Bortles or Minshew or whoever Snead/McVay ferret out. There have to be vets out there willing to come work for McVay. It is a QB friendly offense in general and the right guy is going to benefit by being here.

Because that's the point. The Rams don't need Watson like production, they just need mediocre and they're a 12 win team if all else remains equal.
