Nope.
If Goff departs, his replacement is NOT on this roster.
So, somehow they’ll have to bring another QB in via trade, FA, or draft. Such a decision is where Snead/McVay must earn their spurs.
I think a veteran wanting to re-establish himself will be out there on the relative cheap side. Drafting a guy would be nice if there is one that McVay specifically wants.
But ultimately, if all else remains in place, this offense can improve with a change at QB. Goff just hasn't been doing something special that few others could replicate. He's been JAG and Wolford illustrated to me that it won't take the next Dan Marino or Steve Young to keep this offense rolling. Hell, I'd like to see how Bortles looks if we're being honest and if we have to wait a year to move forward with plan A, I'm fine with seeing what we've got with Bortles and Wolford for a year if it means keeping everyone else we want to keep.
I agree that it wouldn’t take a Marino or Steve Young to kickstart this O beyond the Goff level for the overall last 41 games.
I disagree that either Wolford or Bortles is the answer. I think that McVay has something better than either in mind to hitch his wagon behind.
