Nope.
If Goff departs, his replacement is NOT on this roster.
So, somehow they’ll have to bring another QB in via trade, FA, or draft. Such a decision is where Snead/McVay must earn their spurs.
I think a veteran wanting to re-establish himself will be out there on the relative cheap side. Drafting a guy would be nice if there is one that McVay specifically wants.
But ultimately, if all else remains in place, this offense can improve with a change at QB. Goff just hasn't been doing something special that few others could replicate. He's been JAG and Wolford illustrated to me that it won't take the next Dan Marino or Steve Young to keep this offense rolling. Hell, I'd like to see how Bortles looks if we're being honest and if we have to wait a year to move forward with plan A, I'm fine with seeing what we've got with Bortles and Wolford for a year if it means keeping everyone else we want to keep.
Wolford was a fun watch, but illustrated what exactly?
You do realize Goff about doubled his production vs the exact defense four week earlier
Let me remind you
Goff 31 points. Vs Wolford 9 points
Goff 37/47 for 351 1 TD 1 ruTD 0 INT vs Wolford 22/38 for 231 0 TD 1 INT
Goff 104.9 passer rating vs Wolford 65.1 passer ratingWhat exactly does that illustrate?
Don't get me wrong, I like what I saw with Wolford and it was great to see our back up could play in this league, but number don't lie.....people do
You can't possibly look at those drastic differences in points scored and everything else in that game and think Wolford is the better option
