For the first 2 years it was 11 personnel and Goff executed it quite well. Pro Bowl level.
Following the Super Bowl loss everyone said his offense had been figured out and he started running a 2-TE grouping. Coupled with talent loss, suddenly Goff is to blame for offensive failings.
I hear that a mobile QB is our solution, but McVay's QB in Washington was Kirk Cousins. Not a man who is fleet of foot.
It's feeling more and more to me like it isn't so much Goff as it is McVay who seems to have forgotten what his offense is.
That ‘17 through mid-‘18 Goff has disappeared, 3030. We’ve only seen flashes since. Turnovers, not seeing open receivers deep, fumbles, not recognizing the blitz, outright inaccuracies, inconsistency, etc. League clearly caught up to the heavy 11 personnel sets. Bottom third ratings last 2 years. C’mon...
Having said all that, I hardly consider McVay blameless. You have a legit point there.
