Do you believe McVay has real confidence in Goff? I'm beginning to question it for the first time.
Yes.
I also don't believe he would bs his players.
Players always say they just want honesty from a coach. You lose players without that.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, it's just a question....but didn't McVay say only positive things about several players that are no longer on the team? While I agree McVay is honest with Jared, it's safe to assume that honesty would occur behind closed doors.
Also, I'm flummoxed how Wolford's performance was considered positive. We was not accurate with the dropped pass by Woods and was lucky not to get picked off on the completion to the left sideline. While I like his energy, I don't think he's a very good QB and yet I get the feeling McVay prefers him to Goff. I hope I'm wrong. I see you believe I am so thank you.[/quote]
I am not referring to what McVay says in public, I am referring to what he directly tells players. He told Goff, this is not a benching. Goff is the #1, the issue with the thumb and the Seattle game was strictly medical. If he had doubts about Goff then that would mean he just lied to his own qb. '''
I don't know about Wolford yet. It takes a few games to find out whether a guy is really just a #2 caliber qb (Foles) or a #1 caliber qb who just happens to be in the back-up role (Bulger).
I do know I never liked Wolford's style as a runner. He looks for trouble. Sliding head first, taking on contact--that was bound not to last.
But one and a fourth games starting isn't enough for me to tell if he is a starting caliber qb though he certainly has a lot of the tools.
