Never have I seen this.

Goff had 3 games with a QB rating out of 15 under 70 and in all 3 games, he got torched by fans.

But he also had 6 games of a QB rating over 100.

As others have mentioned, Wolford exceeded expectations while Goff has not met them. Surely you know that the standard is not going to be the same for your $1M backup QB as it is for your $34M starter.

In addition, QB rating doesn't tell the whole story of how well he played.

We didn't score any TDs but that was no fault of his. Akers fumbled at the 2, should have been a TD there. Everett dropped a perfect pass in the endzone. That's 2 TD's we should have had and we only came away with 3 points.

Those were successful drives. The QB did his job as well as he could.

The other QB metric, QBR, reflects his performance more accurately since it factors in his running plays and accounts for the times he came through on those drives despite not resulting in many points.

His QBR was 74.7. Goff has only had 5 games with a better QBR this year and only 3 games better than that last year.

Historically, Pro Bowl QBs generally average around 75-80 QBR. Historically, that means that you give your team a 74.7% chance of winning. Can't ask for much more especially from a backup.
