I think he managed the game and since Murray was out, the Rams were able to back into a win.
When I compare the first game against the Cardinals when the Rams scored 4 offensive touchdowns and Goff had a QB rating over 100 versus this game where the Rams got 0 touchdowns and a QB rating around 65, I have a hard time with the dialog that Goff didn't clearly play better against the same team in a tougher situation where the Cardinals had their top Quarterback against Goff but did not have Murray without Goff.
So you could argue, the surrounding variables were more against Goff because he had to compete head on against Murray versus a backup that didn't have much to give for the Cardinals which makes the results even more eye opening.
Where is that dialog you mention? I must have missed it.
