The Rams are well stocked at Safety. Fuller was an incredible find in the 6th round and is our new JJ. He is a captain type; a leader and very football smart. And the Rams have at least 2 more starters at the other safety on the roster ready to go.
Rams will let him go and get a 3rd round comp.
While folks pillared me for suggesting that Big Whit will be let go if Noteboom does well the remainder of the year, it's not that I want to see Whit go; it has to do with the very practical matter of money in what is likely to be a tight cap for a couple of years. That money will free the Rams up to keep a FA player like Floyd, or sign another.
Noteboom has already demonstrated that he is a good pass blocker on the left side. His run blocking sucks. But, I think there's no reason that can't be developed and besides pass blocking on the QB's blind side is paramount and trumps run blocking (of course you want both if you can have it).
I see no scenario except fan's wishes that JJ stays. He'll probably cost in the low teens of millions to keep. Too much for that position.
