Going into this year, I thought the Rams would be moving on from John Johnson after the season but I’m not so sure that happens now.
JJ has shown to be an integral part of this defense beyond his performance on the field which I believe to be borderline pro bowl level. He’s a rock back there in multiple ways. A captain, signal caller, vocal leader, and he also is a vital component of the Rams identity. This defense can be very special, losing JJ puts that in jeopardy.
We can replace his talent level, but it may be wise to retain JJ for traits beyond talent alone. I think the Rams figure out a way to keep him.
Everett and Reynolds are still goners.
