The part that he was claiming is not objective is when people compare Goff to Rodgers, Wilson, and Mahomes. They say, "see these players also have bad games," but fail to acknowledge that the baseline for those QBs is simply much higher than for Goff.
At this point, we can objectively say that Goff is not on the level of the aforementioned QBs.
And I was pointing out that his stance was no better.
That's why I interjected the fact that virtually any good qb you can name had bad games in their 5th year.
That way I moved the ground to facts that are far less easy to dismiss--even the best qbs have had bad games in their 5th year.
That is a fact. Now what to make of it? Some will say that 2 bad games in his 5th year proves Goff is not better than average, some will say it means the issue is still very much open.
Both are just opinions at this point. For the record, I am on the side of those who believe that there is still a ways to go before we judge with any kind of certainty what level of qb he is.
